On the gmt900 l92 from the factory from the battery, they have a thick cable going to the head and a thinner cable going behind the front bumper.
Its been like that for the last 312,000 miles with zero issues lol
I already added a new oem ground strap from firewall to the head but didn't make a difference. Added it to a different location and doubled it up with factory old ground as people seem to recommend around here. And there's no direct to block ground that I know of on these.
UPDATE! I hooked a 1 gauge jumper cable from the battery ground to the firewall ground and it started right up. I then disconnected it and it's constantly starting normally now but I still have about 1.25v of voltage drop at the firewall ground when starting. I'm thinking of adding a ground...
The voltage drop test shows that there's a ground issue. The starter casing is how the starter grounds... There's no voltage drop across the 12v terminals.
Here's a video. Also I found a voltage drop! Hooking up one lead to the starter casing and the other end on the battery negative I get what you see in the video. Looks like massive voltage drop. Problem is, i'm not sure where to go from here because testing with one lead on battery negative and...
I don't have a charger. Just a jump pack that has jumped diesel semis and another car to jump off of. I'm guessing that isn't enough because it does the same thing with both of those.
Hey guys. Really feel stuck.
Already tried new OEM positive and negative battery cables, new oem starter, new battery, new ground cable from firewall to back of head on drivers side. Mega fuse cleaned and tested good. Cleaned frame behind bumper where battery grounds. Tried to jump start from...
My other thread isn't related to this problem really, should i still post the pics there? I don't get this problem on other struts but the 5100s handle the best so if I can stay with them would be nice.
Sorry for randomly chiming in, but I currently have bilstein 5100 struts with the springs from one of the cheap acdelco professional struts. Do you think the moog 81244 would help with my ride? Going over bigger bumps on the highway is extremely jarring currently.
