    Front Axle Seals replaced...still leaking

Did you install GM seals or after market? I am curious about the integrity of these new superseded part numbers...

    Front Axle Seals replaced...still leaking

Yes, correct. Plastic install "tool" was way larger than seal and machined flat. Flat, even, slow install. I made sure I wasn't angled or anything. Took my time and several whacks with dead blow on plastic tool to ensure a smooth install. Yes, the sealing surface on the axle had typical...

    Front Axle Seals replaced...still leaking

good questions! I used a flat machined 6" piece of UHMWPE rod that i cut to 3" thick. Basically a large round flat piece of plastic and a dead blow mallet. And yes, I lubed the inside of the seals real good before sliding the axle shafts in...very carefully.

    Front Axle Seals replaced...still leaking

'09 Tahoe. Front Diff pumpkin gasket was leaking and the pinion seal as well. Pulled the front diff, replaced all gaskets and pinion seal and while there, replaced both axle seals (were not leaking before). I was very careful, took my time, cleaned everything and reinstall per the book. I had...

    Heater hose Tee connections

OK, looks like the last hose I needed is the 15834773 (Since I have rear heat controls). It has that quick connector I needed. Thank you 89Suburban and donjetman for the links to other posts!

    Heater hose Tee connections

Been looking, but cant find a thread that details all the part numbers needed to complete the Tee and Hose replacement. I found the black GM Tee: 15055342 The white GM Tee: 15055343 The heater core GM hose: 22885825 (appears to have the crimped on quick connector to attach to the 15055342...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yes. Thats what i am looking for. I have found others, but the plug was in the rear section of the pan and would be right where the exhaust crosses over. This one can easily be drained. Thank you.

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

Alright, well I will keep my eye on that as well. I assume only codes that my Tech2 will see or are you talking codes that throw a check engine? Thanks Doubeleive and Geotrash!

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

Could you please elaborate? When the guages dipped and traction message popped up, idle and engine never changed. Engine output has never be affected.

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

GReAt........ Well, i guess i have that to look forward to. Has a 3 YR warranty, so if it doesnt make it a year, i guess I'll know why. Can you enlighten me on the "updated" design for the alternator?

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

Took the battery to the parts store. They load tested and it said good, so i had them test it over and over. Probably 5-6 times. Each time the reserve capacity dropped about 6%. So, what started at 96% dropped to 79% after the last test. Cell going out. Bought a new battery. AGM this...

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

Tested bad in the car when hot and just shut off. Took it out and let it sit over night, then retested it. Tested good. So I bench tested with a load (work light). Bad. The capacity kept dropping every time I load tested. So I’m probably on the edge of a bad cell. Probably going to switch it...

Service Traction Control, but with a twist

So I had something weird happen about an hour ago. I scoured the pages, but non of the "service traction control" threads said anything about this. I was sitting in a parking lot with the engine idling. Probably idling for 10 mins or so. Cold out, like 38 deg. All of a sudden, all my gauges...

    Custom Tune Review!

This guy has a great YouTube channel for his transmission shop. I'm wierd and I like to watching engine rebuilds and transmission rebuild videos. Your Sonnax article reminded me of this video from the transmission shop where he stumbles upon the 8th ball for the first time. 8th ball in 6L80E...

    Rear Cargo Extra Storage

So we all know the issue with rear cargo storage in the Tahoe and I see multiple solutions on here for adding storage in lieu of the third row seating. I need the third row seats in all the time for the family. In my endless pursuit of every little bit of extra space i can get, i try to find...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Swapped out the old chrome LTZ five spokes for a set of Silverado wheels. The Chrome was starting to flake and slow leak around the bead. Found a guy on marketplace that swapped his for black rims and just wanted them out of his garage. Got lucky with that find. Glad I pulled the trigger.
