    Continental Terrain Contact H/T?

I have both the Continental Terrain Contact H/T and Michelin Defenders, both of the same age, on two different GM full size SUVs. In my experience, the Continentals are superior in nearly every way. Most important, from a safety perspective, the Continentals have better wet traction. This...

00-01 Cat back different than 02-06

If anyone is interested in buying it, I have a complete 6.0 Denali/ Escalade Magnaflow exhaust, with the 3.5 inch diameter muffler back pipe size & 4 inch tip. Used only about 200 miles...

Dexron III - Replacement for AWD Transfer Case

The answer to your question depends on whether you are 1) in the 90% who just want something that meets the specs, is readily available cheaply, or at the local store ... or 2) if you are in the 10% that want the absolute best available for maximum durability, and you are willing to pay more and...

    Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling continuation thread

Don't buy it! That's probably why it was sold/traded in. Many things can cause those symptoms, including some very major problems. Don't knowingly buy someone else's problem.

    new Carven TR muffler/Performance Issues

Did they do any welding, when they installed the muffler? Welding can cause stray currents & voltages that can damage one of the modules.

    Freewheeling

If you have an open differential, it will work that way.

Replace spark plugs and wires, doing #8 the harder way, and then the hard way on a 2013 Escalade 6.2L

I solved the #8 Plug access issue permanently. I don't need rear heat on my machine, so I got rid of the rear coolant lines and heat shield. Instant easy access now! And made my machine more reliable, by eliminating a bunch of coolant leak failure points.

    Confirm My Mad Scientist Idea!

It should work well, assuming the transmission handles idling in park well, in it's present condition. Make sure your rubber hose loop is securely clamped on.

Ok, who has dropped the tranny pan? How many curse words were dropped?

I agree. A major design fail. And they didn't learn from that fail when they designed the next generation.

Best On-Board Jack for Flat Tire Changes

I ordered a VIAIR 450P Compressor. Went for the max compressor performance, since I don't have a need for backup battery power, etc (Dual alternators, dual isolated batteries, power inverter).

Best On-Board Jack for Flat Tire Changes

Thanks, I appreciate all the great ideas! Rounding up a wood plank, wheel chocks, and will look at bottle jack options. Already have the plug kit, will get a high end compressor before my next road trip.

Best On-Board Jack for Flat Tire Changes

I don't have a good feeling about having to use the pathetic little post jack that comes with the vehicle, if I had to change a flat tire on the road. Antyhing other than a perfectly flat pavment surface may result in that thing not getting it done. What are your best recommendations about...

    01 Denali Transfer case problems

On a 2001, you have an AWD transfer case with a viscous fluid coupling between the front and rear. I don't know what the syptoms of that viscous coupling going bad are, but that would be what I would start to investigate.

2007 GMC Denali stalls after towing

120 Degrees in Arizona? I would get serious and focus on the high percentage likelyhood fixes. 1) Take it to a local tuning shop that tunes LS engines (Corvette, Camaro, etc), and have them program your ECM to disable the VVT. As others on the Forum have done. You can have them program the...

Anyone running the Continental TerrainContact H/T 285/45/22?

I've had the Continental TerrainContact H/T 285/45/22, since when they first came out. They are fantastic in every way! I bought these after being very disappointed with my last set of Michelins, which only offered good traction for the first 12 months, 12,000 miles. After that they were...

2007 GMC Denali stalls after towing

You need a thicker oil. The hot oil pressure will be determined by the second number in the viscosity rating (the "50" in 5W-50, 10W-50, 20W-50) Choose one of those grades of oil. That will give you a good bit more hot oil pressure than running 5W-30 or 10W-30.

What else should I do while I've got my dash removed?

I recommend replacing the ambient light sensor while you have the dash apart. It's very difficult to do otherwise, and they definitely degrade over time.
