    2002 tahoe euro version

@nonickatall , do you know where he might find a key fob? I figure being in Germany you may have an idea.

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

I am not sure how often samples are taken for short term trims. And the long terms are the average of the shorts, again not sure when they are moved from ST to the LT file. Are you in a relatively flat area or have some hills? Could be that you are on and off the gas enough that it enriches more...

    Good cam?

Are you talking 400 wheel or 400 crank? With just long tubes and a good tune a stock LQ4 should be close to 400 crank. How to make 400hp with a gen 3 truck engine jump to 11:40 for the 6.0 stuff. Now this is an LQ4 and with headers and a good tune ( and minus accessories) it made over 400hp...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

Mine is also 08/05. So I would think yours would have had the 5114 operating system mine originally had. But with the flex not enabled.

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

I use obdlink mx+ to scan vehicles and I don't recall if it shows operating system or not. I get that info from either PCMhammer or LSDroid programs. But like posted, I don't know if it really matters. I think there was one other EARLY operating system that came before the ones I posted, but not...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

@2006Tahoe2WD , do you know what operating system your tahoe ecm is running? I have looked at os 9623, 7811, and 5114 all 2006 OS calibrations show a base of 38.007 percent of ethanol in the flex fuel section. All vehicles seem to have the tuning there in the ecm, but whether or not it was...

    Off Roading with an automatic

Quite a good discussion. But here is where I put the big idea out. He needs a trustworthy friend to be his co-pilot. Someone who has a little experience offroading riding with to talk him through it. Someone to hop out and spot him until he gets a good feel for his rig and the terrain. You and...

    Off Roading with an automatic

I will agree that Low Range will ease stress on The transmission. And agree that 95 percent of the time you won't get to 40 mph. But, just because you are off road and may need four wheel drive doesn't mean you need Low. Such as a beginner. Same here. I've logged close to 35,000 miles...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

Your 2004 still has the mechanical ethanol sensor, so it will show alcohol content in the fuel. Late 05 and up do not have that sensor so they estimate. Yeah he'll, if he is not the original owner, a previous owner may have even put junk aftermarket injectors in and that is causing g an issue

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

I will add a caveat. It could be looking for an ethanol content, but that would mean that a no -flex vehicle had a flex ecm installed. So since the I jectors for the flex engine are larger, it would have to trim positive to get the same mixture. But lm7 injectors are 30% smaller so I would think...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

He will be fine to mix a 1/4 tank of regular to 3/4 tank e85. Yes the trim will max out, but that is the point. To full duty cycle the injectors and run the most ethanol through them as possible because it is a very good cleaner. I ha e done it in my nonflex Silverado and yes it will guzzle the...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

Sorry for the late reply. I'm thinking you have some poor flowing/ clogged injectors. So the +9 etc. numbers is the ecm trying to make up for lack of flow. I know the T engines are not flex fuel, but I would run your tank down to about 1/4 and top off with e85. Just drive it easy and you won't...

    Off Roading with an automatic

I would start out with 4 wheel high and put it in drive. If you find that it doesn't leave 1st gear because you are going slow, manually select 1st to avoid up and down shifting when you let off the gas. If you find that something is too steep or you need to go very slow, then use 4 low.

    Oil Consumption

I think something you should invest in also, is an oil catch can. It goes I line between the pcv valve and the intake manifold. I will capture and excessive oil vapors and not allow them to be burned. Catch can on Amazon I love mine. On the Tahoe it collects about 250ml every 4800km. I just...

Lifter tick and performance cam swap

And repin of connector( or buy the 60e to 80e jumper connector), and adding a few wires then pinning them to the ecm for the ISS. And different flexplate. Don't get me wrong, I fully believe any upgrades and a fella should look into a 80e before getting a stage 65 built 60e. But, there is more...

    Oil Consumption

Ok. I looked again. That may possibly be a production flaw that just looks different than the rest of the cylinders. But if you are concerned, it is good enough reason to inspect better. As for the coolant loss. Do you know that it is consuming coolant? Or is it possible that it is leaking...

    Oil Consumption

I did not see the crack you were speaking about. I believe the valve stem seals are shot by looking at the videos. Also you will see more buildup than other engine. The fact you run propane or CNG is the reason. Liquid fuel washes the oil buildup away when it is introduced to the cylinder...

My current fuel trims - idle, 2000rpm, 3000rpm all no load

Is this driving/ under load? Or are you in park just revving? All data points need to be taken in a real world scenario, i.e. driving. Long terms are a bit high, but the computer is always trying to get to its programmed fuel mix. So if it was "seeing" lean exhaust, it would add more fuel. So if...

    REAR END UPGRADES

Probably a fair amount more.... but traction bars and slicks combined with a stall converter and 1100+ lb ft of torque, is brutally harder on a axle assembly than even 900 extra pounds and a stock engine. The Gov-loc is the downfall of the GM 8.5/8.6 rearends. I've built too many square bodies...

    Lq9 swap

Thicker gasket is a horrible idea. Sure it drops the compression..... so now you are back closer to 317 head compression. But, it also opens up the quench distance. Which raises the requirement on octane because it lowers knock resistance. So you have to back off timing also lowering fuel...

    Lq9 swap

4.10s will help immensely, but 799s are still going to give you compression in the neighborhood of 10.9:1..... We are talking 93 octane and a DEAD nuts tune. Or you will have unique powdered pistons. An fbody or vette, or hot rod swap that is light could get by with that. But a heavy pig suv or...

    Lq9 swap

Ok, so 317 heads will be fine you will see minimal gains for the almost 11:1 compression the 799s will give for the same cfm flow that the lower compression 317s have. In a heavy suv the stock LQ9 compression will be fine. Use a Truck Norris cam for maximum torque and the power under 6k where a...
