    Freedom Off-road UCA’s

Thank you for your response. I’m pretty impressed with the 4 year mark on your NNBS. It’s also good to know they are not manufactured in house. While browsing, I also found that Rough Country makes a forged set for the GMT800 platform. Again, thank you for this response regarding the Freedom’s...

No you understood right. Love how everyone always has their two cents to add on pages like these and it’s rarely anything pertinent or useful to the info to the topic at hand. I’m not your damn brother. Go eat a dick and mind your own business.

It hasnt had ”lift keys” on it since 2016. It’s had GM white keys since then. Same as the ones on my Tahoe. Im well aware of the ill effects of torsion crank, regardless of what keys are in a given vehicle. YES I agree they are just wearing out. The initial question about beefier ends should...

    One Piece Tie Rods

Your slick comment about “real lift” is what upset me. It was not needed and obviously completely no help at all. You weren’t trying to help initially, just being condescending regarding a setup that has worked well for me for almost 20 years. I’ve owned the vehicle in question since 2006. If...

I average 60k miles plus annually driving in a variety of conditions all across a major metro city in conjunction with plenty of time off highway at our farm. When I say it’s eating them, I mean i have replaced the last two sets of Moog each year. So it’s not like it’s blowing through them super...

And more specifically the auto industry has been in a race to the bottom now since the 70s. Product quality across the board continues to diminish with each passing year from OE and aftermarket manufacturers along with the quality of life for those individuals working within the industry itself...

Sadly we live in manufactured obsolescence. The root of the issue is greed no doubt. My dad has a newer JD, a 42 Farmall H, and a 91 2355 JD. Guess which one is always down and in limp mode vs the other two that won’t die? I was ride or die GM until 07. Manufactured obsolescence is the only...

Absolutely. And right to repair infringements across multiple industries. Been a topic of concern in the auto realm honestly since OBD. Now it’s hitting agriculture and everything.

On a related note, I’ve spent the last 18 years of my career in the automotive industry. 15 of those in parts. 2 of those with a very well known off road chain. I’ve seen Moog warranty rates increase nationwide over the 10ish years or so. I’m guessing the quality control at Federal Mogul...

    One Piece Tie Rods

My keys in both trucks are now GM whites. If you are unaware, this is an OE key that allows for ALMOST as much adjustment as aftermarket lift keys. They are not indexed as much however. GM put them on plow trucks, etc. for added front end adjustment due to added weight. Last time I checked, a...

    Freedom Off-road UCA’s

Good afternoon everyone. Quick question for the group. Anybody running Freedom Off Road UCA’s? If so, pros/cons? Been a Moog user for decades, but thinking about changing it up. Thanks in advance.

    One Piece Tie Rods

Good Morning everyone. Quick question, who has one piece tie rods on their 99-06 truck/suv? I see Cognito and Rare Parts have offerings. The Cognito’s are a heim style whereas the Rare appear to be a beefier one piece OE replica. Are there any other options I’m not seeing? I drive a lot. Both my...

    No sound 1994 Silverado

Problem solved. I was able to put a meter on the speakers, and no power. Rather than chasing my tail on 28 year old wiring, I ended up replacing dads factory speakers and ran new wiring to the new head unit. Now he has Bluetooth capabilities and some better sounding tunes. Apparently the factory...

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

Hindsight is and always will be 20/20. The shop sounds stand up for the most part thus far and thankfully owning their mistakes. I hope they find a remedy for you ASAP. As other members have suggested, it sounds converter or pump related. Unfortunate that the shop loafer is nasty, but rental...

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

Two years ago I bought a reman 4L60e from a local dealer for less than $1700 with the 36 month/100k with exchange. Granted I performed labor myself and saved on labor, but I’d be willing to bet you’ve got that much or more in the current build. It was more of a suggestion for the shop you are...

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

I rarely say this, but dealer. If you continue to have issues, GM offers 3yr/100k warranty on their prebuilt units. Just swap your core. Unless you have the upmost trust in the builder, the GM reman route is the best alternative for 4L60Es in my opinion. They are not necessarily hard to build...

    Idiots Are Everywhere!

Millennials aren’t the problem. Sure there are several that do contribute to several issues we face in society. The problem the auto industry faces is the lack of focus on vocational and trade school programs at a high school level. Sure folks can go to community college(tech school) thereafter...

    04 yukon leveling

GM White keys are preferable. If not those Ford and aftermarket keys are indexed about the same and allow for roughly same adjustment. If you want stuff to last, stay on oe wheels and around a 285/75/16, 285/70/17, or 275/70/18. Can you go bigger, yes. Sky is the limit.
