    Removing oil pan 6.2L

This was precisely what I'd been looking for, and he did a great job explaining it. The only difference in my car is that I've got a 2WD, which means the engine sits lower. I have to remove the steering rack bolts to lower it down to get the pan out. This is an excellent video on removing and...

    Removing oil pan 6.2L

On my path to doing the AFM/DOD delete, I'm at the point where I need to remove the cam. I need to walk the chain off it so I don't have to remove the oil pump. I've seen people do it on YouTube, but after trying it, I feel like it's too much force. I've decided to go ahead and drop the oil...

    L86 gen 5 lifter kit

I decided to buy a kit from briantooleyracing.com because I had been reading reviews, and everything was positive. I talked to a guy there; he was very knowledgeable about my situation and put together a package for me to review. The total cost was about $1500, but that included everything I...

    L86 gen 5 lifter kit

My wife's 2015 Escalade ESV started making the dreaded knocker sound. The EMU says there is a po302 code about cylinder two is misfiring. I've tried moving around the spark wire, spark plug and coil pack but it still knocks. I'm now about 98% sure it's the lifter. I will be pulling the valve...

Heater core hose to water pump

So, I was going to do Scotty's suggestion, but after swapping my lines from what they were, my core stopped gurgling. The left core port goes to the left water pump outlet and the right to the right. I pulled this image off a YouTube and it shows the correct layout.

Thanks you Scotty! I'll do that. :)

Heater core hose to water pump

I'm concluding that it doesn't make a difference. I've watched about 10 videos about replacing these hoses; some are right-to-right, and some are right-to-left. I'll switch mine to right-to-right and see if it solves my gurgling problem. If I'm wrong, it's only expensive anti-freeze that I'm...

Heater core hose to water pump

Thank you both for the responses! The picture shows that your lines are connected right to right, left to left...but the diagram shows how mine is currently connected.

Heater core hose to water pump

Good morning, Gents! I'm replacing my water pump because whoever replaced it before me didn't seal it correctly, and it has been slowly leaking. I've done this on other Tahoes, so it's not a big deal. While removing the hoses, I *think* I noticed that whoever did it before might have mixed...

    Side Mirror replacement

Has anyone tried using Gen 3 side mirrors as replacements for the stock mirrors? I'm looking for something different. I've used the extended truck mirrors but didn't like the look. I think the Gen 3 mirrors look much better. Wondering if anyone has tried them putting them on a Gen 2 Tahoe...

    Ok, what is this?

Well, that makes complete sense! I thought it was something to hang my sun glasses on. ;)

Front brake upgrade from 2013 Avalanche?

After doing a little research, I'm pretty sure the brake calipers off that 2013 Avalanche will work just fine. Looking on Rockauto, I can see that the part numbers (GM GENUINE 85569601/85569602) for the 2007 Tahoe is the same as for the 2013 Avalanche. Also, LSXMatt did a good job showing the...

Front brake upgrade from 2013 Avalanche?

I was browsing my local Pick Your Part junkyard when I noticed a 2013 Avalanche just sitting there with the tires off. After further inspection, I could see that they had the two-piston brake caliper, and it made me wonder if they'd fit on my 2001 Tahoe. Any thoughts on this? Is it worth the...

2015 Escalade ESV O2 Sensor reading

You are correct. I swapped out a new O2 sensor, and the engine light is still on. Looks like I'll be replacing the whole thing. :/

2015 Escalade ESV O2 Sensor reading

Thank you for the info, Rygrego! Good suggestion. That's something that I would replace with a new Cat anyway so might as well buy it now.

2015 Escalade ESV O2 Sensor reading

I'd like someone's opinion on what I see here, please. I was talking about it in another thread and decided to just make a new one to be less confusing for anyone having the same issue. I'm getting a PO430 error about our catalyst system running below the threshold on bank 2. Using my...

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

As always, I appreciate your advice and will not be performing this guesswork because that's exactly what is. I wouldn't sell it knowing it would be a problem for someone. Any thoughts on buying a replacement for half the price from RockAuto (or somewhere) using a none OEM?

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

When I pulled the codes, it said I had a PO430 error on Bank 2. This car has about 120k miles on it. It happened right after my wife got some bad gas on a trip out of town, and I can't clear it. Every once in a while, the engine light will go out for a day, but then it comes back on. One...

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

Great information. I'll pull those codes and look for those codes. The catalytic convert needs to be replaced, so that'll be the next project.

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

Thank you, 91RS... I will do that. I just returned from the parts store and had them test the battery. The guy said the battery didn't fail, but it didn't pass either. It should have 760 CCA but was only pulling 430. He gave me a new one because it has a 3-year warranty, thank God. One...

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

Hey, I'll take any advice that I can get. I wonder if there is something wrong with this battery now. It's a Duralast Platinum, and they just had to replace about eight months ago. Any recommendations on a cheap bi-directional tool I can buy? I hate to spend thousands on a tool I'm only...

    2015 Escalade ESV Lemon

We bought my wife an Escalade about three years ago, and although it's very comfortable to take long trips in, it always seems to have a problem. While it was under extended warranty, it was okay because we would just bring it in and mostly fix whatever was wrong with it, but that expired...

    Catalytic converter replacement

My wife drives a 2015 Escalade ESV with the 6.0 and about a month ago the stupid engine light popped on which is coding that one of the catalytic converters is bad. I've tried clearing the code (which it would not let me do) and mixing some lacquer thinner with the gas. That didn't work, so...
