TC Shudder, misdiagnosed as 4WD issue by myself

Ok, thanks. It was snowing yesterday and I put my truck in 4auto and it was more like a constant rumbling at city and highway speeds. Put on 2wd and it went away.

I bought the bottom shifter cable last summer but I haven’t installed it yet. Picture hanging wire has been holding up till I tackle this. Btw, I tried those inserts and they didn’t work. I must have been doing something wrong.

    Transmission selector cable

I tried to make that kit work, it loosened at a drive thru and burnt my forearm on the exhaust attaching the cable. I’d show a pic but it’s nasty and got infected.

Hi, my 14 Tahoe 6 speed trans linkage cable came loose from the plastic grommet, if you will. So I went to the dealership and bought part 20787608, the lower shift cable part, and the parts guy tells me I need to buy the the upper, too. I told him I’ll just take the bottom for now. He made a...

    Torque Converter or Transmission

Thanks, how much should I be saving up? Last time I bought a transmission, not sure what brand, I paid 3600 for a new one with 36,000 warranty for my wife's 5 speed explorer from an independent shop. The new one went out a few weeks before the warranty expired so I really lucked out. But I'm...

    Torque Converter or Transmission

I have a 2014 tahoe with the 6speed transmission. At times my transmission will act like it goes neutral under moderate to hard acceleration, I would have to let off the gas to snap back in. The first time I noticed it was on a 10 hour drive from MD to Nashville and my truck had about 25,000...

Fed up with 5.3 Oil Consumption

The reason I came up with 1/8 of a quart, is because on average I was putting in oil where the line is on the oil bottle and it seems to match up with the full line almost perfectly *about every 3 to 4 weeks*

Fed up with 5.3 Oil Consumption

I'm fed up with adding oil to my truck to keep it at level. I have a 2014 Tahoe that I bought new but did not know about the oil consumption til I started working on my own truck 2 years ago. Yes, I was guilty of not checking my oil before I fired my local Chevy service center and Firestone. I...

    Broken transmission pan bolt

Thanks for the advice. So I drilled thru the bolt in the center but could not get the extractor to work. But since it's not leaking I'll leave it for now and tackle it when I do the next change. I'll back out the bolts tomorrow and torque. Thanks again to everyone. Brian

    Broken transmission pan bolt

I dropped my trans pan and filter with a new gasket in my 2014 Tahoe Saturday. Luckily my flange exhaust bolts weren't rusted at all and I did it by the book by dropping the exhaust. So I couldn't find my torque wrench and I tried to wing it, and broke a bolt. Trust me, it didn't take much. I'm...

I just did my transfer case, front and rear differentials(gasket for the rear, too) last week. When I did the front, I stuck my finger and I felt no oil. Also, not much came out. I checked it yesterday and it was full. I plan on doing my transmission fluid in 2 weeks.
