Sorry. Starter turns over. Engine doesn’t start. The Tahoe times out trying to turn over after 20-30 seconds and stops trying. If I try again immediately, it starts. No other problems. The starter does hesitate at every start up. But I am assuming this is a fuel issue. Didn’t consider a starter...
Tahoe starts everytime when it’s a cold start. However, after running for about 30 minutes or more, the starter kicks and kicks and kicks and doesn’t turn over the motor. I have a fuel smell and then when I try again, it starts. I replaced the fuel pump about 6 months ago and then had the dealer...
So I did take a shop vac and carefully removed the debris form the area and cleaned everything real good and repaired the broken wire. installed the new part and the Tahoe is actually running very well. no error codes yet, so may have got both covered from the repairs. I made a simple video to...
So I got the airbox manifold (wherever its called) removed. Then I found out what the REAL problem is.... We have deer corn in our side lot and apparently a mouse has been housing between the manifold and airbox eating its corn. And it chewed through one wire on the wiring harness to connect to...
Hello @wjburken, I had chevy run new fuel lines a few months back. Shortly after I was getting P0442 code. When I started to take parts off the top of the engine to replace the cylinder deactivation manifold, then I saw this connector (black line with green cap) was not actually snapped back in...
I think you're right... The picture I dropped in this thread, my timing cover looks the one on the right, the picture had text at the bottom of the image that I didnt really pay attention too, "These are two LS engine timing covers. The one on the left has the camshaft phasing actuator...
Thanks.... I dont mind replacing parts that are old and probably worn out, especially if they are not that expensive. I will try to find the parts tomorrow and see about swapping them out.
A new code showed up and the engine feels likes it’s missing. I search the forum for “P3425” and had not results. Any help would be appreciated!

I replaced my fuel pump about 3-4 months ago. Dropped the tank and lines were rusted through. It was bad. Then I paid Chevrolet to replace the lines that run up to the fuel rail.
When I turn the key, the engine turns over and it almost feels like the computer tries to keep pushing the engine...
Hey Larry, after I replaced my flex plate. I noticed a strange spit sound during the starting of the engine. I have tried to let the fuel pump prime and does not do anything. Is their an adjustment in the starter? Could I have damages the solenoid or electrical connection after removing and...
Yes. He should have used sockets for transmission bolts. Also, I did not remove the exhaust. That’s a lot more time involved removing those bolts as well.
Four other observations I found on his video;
1) you can lower the transmission then remove the coolant lines
2) the torque converter bolts...
Yes. I am fairly certain my jack stand would not support both transmission and transfer case. So I had my rolling floor jack aligned from front to back under the transmission pan. The transfer case was supported by transmission jack, that was only because the t-case was difficult to balance...
ah yay....that might be rear main seal. the good thing is, you have plenty of space to slide everything back, I didn’t remove any oil from either transmission or transfer case. Slid them back long enough to replace flex plate. And it looked like you don’t have to drop the oil pan. I was nervous...
Yes, torque wrench would have been great. I put that as a “tools I wish I had” in the comments of the YouTube video. The head might be a little large, but should be okay.
Did you check that two bolt gasket and cover above the oil filter to see if that was the culprit for the oil leak?

Hey pal, after I removed the starter dust cover, I put a 3/8” extension in the extra hole of the flex plate to lock it down. I took a standard 3/8” ratchet with a 24” breaker bar extension and they broke free. It seemed like alignment had to be absolutely perfect to “seat” the head of the...
Thanks to these guys here, I found it. I made some videos on how I did this, I’ll edit the clips and publish on YouTube. I didn’t take transmission and transfer case all the way out.
