Will,
This was occurring mainly while driving up fairly steep inclines of gravel roads or wet pavement. Based on my discussion with the GMC tech, I was given the impression that I was feeling the system toggling in and out of 4wd when the rear tires would slip. It was also happening under...
Just had a rainy weekend with the family in Asheville, NC. We rented a cabin in the mountains and drove a lot in low-traction conditions. We live in Florida where it's mostly flat, so haven't really seen many hills or gravel roads with the Yukon. For no really good reason, we've pretty much...
This is a great question. I'm thinking there probably isn't enough room to work between the radiator flaps and the grill. Easiest way to check is to remove the top core support plastic cover and see if you can get access from the top. The bumper bar would definitely block access from the...
FWIW, the 22's on my '19 have quite a few weights near the outside like that -- was like this from the factory. Not my preference either, but as many have said, as long as they are well balanced, that's what is important.
I replaced my OEM 18" wheels a week after taking delivery -- they are for sale. I'm in the Jacksonville area. Alternatively, I bought my OEM 22" wheels from a wheel/tire shop in Tampa. They seemed to have the best prices around. Where are you located? Which wheels are you looking for?
Anyone have an easy fix for this? Our driver's side just started doing this over the weekend. It's less than 6-months old, so still under warranty, but would rather fix at home.
My new Yukon is the quietest vehicle I've ever owned. No issues here. Perhaps you should ask the dealer if you can drive a different one for comparison.
I kept running into rentals during my search (which was a long one). The "rental" tag stays with the car forever. Future buyers will always have concerns if you ever plan to sell it yourself. I also always saw more wear and tear on the rentals -- I assume from luggage constantly being dragged...
Cosmoline was first developed for the military for rust prevention then began being used commercially. It's similar to what you are describing. The stuff that dries tends to flake off with age. I'd guess some of the rust preventatives are dealer applied and may vary due to location.
Glad you found one with the right options. Tough to find some of these combinations for sure. Our dealer had a Pepperdust Denali in the showroom that was gorgeous. It's a great color.
I just did this and thanks so much for the write-up, it was very helpful. The tip on loosening the side brackets is a great one!
One thing I'll add: You actually don't have to remove the outside perimeter grille piece. You really just need to swap out the black plastic and the center grille...
What did that square bushing sit against? Was there a bolt or anything in it? Did that fender bolt go through it? I always assumed there was a square hole behind that round plug in the middle of your 1st picture.
