2016 Tahoe Z71 - Gauges turned off, kept driving OK. Shut off now won't start?

My money is that there is a bad ground, or dirty positive - or both. I had the same thing happen. There are several leads to chase, but remove and clean each one.

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

Thank you! Question: If you were running the same scan on your LT-4, what would the LT fuel trims look like?

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

I should also add (and maybe completely unrelated, but the timing of this is the same) but I've also been having some long cranking and rough running on cold starts lately. Some days are better than others, but a couple days ago it took to attempts to start, engine missing and sputtering, had to...

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

Please review the scans below. The original Callaway "Honker" CAI intake box was changed out because it sucked for filter changes and the mounting lugs had broken so I figured a change from a flat K&B CAI filter to a cone would be good (what could go wrong)? I really was not looking for more...

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

Here's a partial report from a scan and a pic of my intake mod. The funny thing is that the code it popped shows it was 64 miles back. But I had just run it at WOT and experienced the missing above 4,500 RPM steadily. For some reason it does not always pop a code.

    6.2 High RPM Misfire

Hi there - I've recently had a high rpm engine misfire issue crop up. It happens as the engine winds through around 5,500 prm's and gets more pronounced with increasing rpm's. To my senses it's an ignition induced misfire but I"m not 100% convinced or as to why it's happening. Background...

    2019 Tahoe wiper blades?

That's what I did and I bought a nice inventory of the GM style wipers. Note: My dealer also only offered the aftermarket blades, not the GM blades - WTF?

    Transmission Issues

Regarding your transmission - It sounds like you have the 8 speed and for that transmission, clunky downshifts are pretty much normal. Actually clunky behavior regularly or randomly is pretty much normal. You can check with your dealer for any service bulletins that may not have been...

2018 Yukon, tune to help trans?

I would start with a transmission FLUSH, not just a fluid change. Also have the filter cleaned. Once that's done then move on to the tuning of the ECM and the TCM.

What year would you avoid in a Tahoe or Yukon?

In my case the issue started out on a cold day, a couple days after going through a car wash. I pressed the button on the left rear passenger door to open it and place my work back pack inside. This button is the most often used for this reason. In this particular case I felt the button sort of...

Door seal keeps coming off both sides 2015 Yukon

Yeah, I had the same problem on my 2019 Yukon almost since new. While under warranty I had the dealer re-attach it every time I was in for service. Finally outside of warranty period I paid for a new one to be installed. My sense is that it was mis-installed when the vehicle was built and the...

    Settings Reset/Dead. Battery?

Did you ever get your issue resolved? I'm just seeing this post, but it certainly sounds to me like a connectivity issue and most likely a grounding issue. Check the ground to the BCM as well as your terminal connections both on the battery side and the chassis side. Also, your ECM ground as...

What year would you avoid in a Tahoe or Yukon?

Regarding your issue with continuous electrical drain, I had the same issue on my 2019 Yukon. In my case it turned out to be one of the passive entry door handle buttons "sticking" in intermittently (more often in cold weather). When the button was stuck, it would drain the battery dead between...

    Need Engine Troubleshooting Help!

Hello brain trust - Today I decided to perform my twice per year top engine cleaning. I disconnect the battery, replace the air filter, clean the MAF, remove and clean the throttle body and then spray a can of CRC turbo and valve cleaner through the engine. I got to the part of reconnecting the...

    Battery low issue

You don't state your geographic location, but here in Minnesota I've nothing but headaches with my battery going dead in colder weather. The cause? The passive entry buttons on the door handles collect moisture from either rain (on a warmer day) or the car wash. Then it gets cold and the passive...
