Yukon 2022 6.2 engine died at 75,000 miles.

Engine blueprinting... This can be taken to another level to reduce rotating resistance, make sure every bore is in line, reduce the tolerances and overall improve fitment for components in the engine. Further improving on manufacturer's spec. I balanced my rotating assembly when I built my...

Yukon 2022 6.2 engine died at 75,000 miles.

Looking at photos of your bearings. Just for perspective, I tore down my engine a 5.3L LM7 from 2001 with 230,000 miles on it. I could still see the part number engraved on the bearings. There was very little wear on them as if the oil does it's job then it suspends the tiny tiny metal particles...

Yukon 2022 6.2 engine died at 75,000 miles.

I'm getting to this a bit late in the thread. Probably somebody already posted this but GM did a recall on these vehicles. Manufacturers are pushing the viscosity too low! There was a recall and if the motors hadn't blown up yet the solution was to simply run higher viscosity oil. I don't...

Mechanic in Austin and or San Antonio

I'm on my way out to help a buddy rebuild a Jeep motor. We need a help line so to speak. He lives in Austin, then we're transporting the vehicle to San Antonio for the teardown. Anybody know of... 1. Reputable machine shops in the area. 2. Reputable mechanics in the area. 3. Anybody from the...

1999 Jeep TJ Automatic Shut Down Reset (ASD)

Seems right. Thanks for sharing! I'd imagine the battery would only need disconnected for 5 minutes or so. He tried 5 minutes then connected it and it had same symptoms, crank but no fire. I'd hoped he'd leave it unplugged overnight but seems he connected it back up. Is hard as I don't have...

1999 Jeep TJ Automatic Shut Down Reset (ASD)

My buddy called me in a panic. I'm headed out there in a few days to help him rebuild the engine in his 1999 Jeep TJ. We think it has at least one cracked piston skirt. I should also mention this is his ONLY vehicle. He decided to do some diagnostic stuff before I arrive, specifically a...

    Brake Upgrade Help

Ended up saving notes from this project on my website: https://matthewjeschke.com/gmt900brakeswap/ I need to organize more of my notes! I've probably got something ridiculous like a TB of photos and videos on my project to build up this truck. They're just sitting on my hard drive.

    Rebuilding a steering box

I've rebuilt three of these now! It's so simple, surprised everybody doesn't do this. Only thing is you need a large snap ring plyers but you can get them at harbor freight for pretty cheap. I also did my transfer case now which wasn't much harder. Cannot believe shops send this stuff out all...

    Rocker switch panel ideas

Likewise! I'd love to know where the additional wiring holes are in the firewall. I currently drilled a hole where the master cylinder would go for the clutch if it was a manual vehicle and am using that but a wiring factory provision would be even better!

    Alignment camber issue

@Coveman did you install the alignment system from dirt kings yourself or have a shop do it? Their tutorial says you can do it on your own...

Oh sweet that guy in reviews made his own. Maybe I could just do that.

    Rocker switch panel ideas

@homesick OMG DUDE! You're awesome! Totally ordering this when it gets back in stock! Only thing is I'll have to check if it works with the ceiling console that has my rear air controls. Photo doesn't show that. https://www.lmctruck.com/interior/consoles-organizers/ce-shelf-it

    Alignment camber issue

@Coveman have you had to fiddle with camber or caster again since installing them? I noticed they sell pins as well. Probably should buy them as well.

    Rocker switch panel ideas

@Marky Dissod good idea... I like the left hand side too. It makes wiring simpler too as that's where the junction blocks are for the dash (at the ends), the factory grommet, and grommet I drilled (in clutch master cylinder area) are there too. I've long wanted a shelf above the windshield as...

    Alignment camber issue

The inside of my driver side tire has the tread worn off. Outside is fine. All other tires are prefect. Truck drives straight as an arrow. Leads me to believe the camber is off on my front driver side????? Trying to find alignment specs. Got below from HERE Caster: L: 3.50° ± 1.00° R: 4.50° ±...

    Rocker switch panel ideas

Curious if anybody has done a rocker switch panel (these things). I've already drilled a hole in firewall for aftermarket devices, would like to add a few switches. Would be really cool if there's something for the blank spots in the dash, red box below... I'm going to wire up a fan switch to...

05 Yukon Denali Rocker panel covers

Wow those are BAAAAAAAD. I'd cut them out and install new, although requires a welder and bunch of tools. Last time I had this happen I ground out ALLL the bad metal. Then you SEAL it really well with a rust sealing paint. You're going to have holes all over the place when you do this. Then I...

    Brake Upgrade Help

Anybody paint their calipers? I may have jumped the gun. I use rustoleum a lot to paint various car parts. I used it on my control arms and worked like a champ! However, cleaned up the calipers then sprayed them with rustoleum and it doesn't seem to like to bond. With little effort the paint...

    Brake Upgrade Help

hahahaha yeah, interior quality dropped off around the GMT800... but mechanical complexity got a little out of hand after the GMT900. I'd still like to find this dust shields. Nowhere on eBay though and the part number isn't found anywhere on the internet. The old ones are 0.8" shorter, likely...

    Brake Upgrade Help

I am going to stick with the GMT800 ones as seems oddly nobody makes the gmt900 ones anymore. If I am lucky to find a gmt900 in the junkyard I will snag them but for whatever reason I NEVER see gmt900 in the junkyard here.... Did they make far fewer gmt900s?

    Brake Upgrade Help

I got my upgraded brakes. They're from GMT900 Silverado. After further research I see up to 2018/2019? the part numbers are the same for the calipers. I bought them used and am rebuilding them. Did my test fit on passenger side and it bolts up perfectly to the steering knuckle. Only thing...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

Yeah you could use Pin 42, low speed fan pin. The only question in doing that is does your PCM have the calibration to command it on given vehicle speed? You may have to go to a tuner to enable that part of the calibration. Doesn't hurt to try though.
