    Years ago, I worked at a coal mine in northern BC, the battery blanket save the truck many times. I would have synthetic oil, block heater and battery blanket. It was cold, truck door won't close cold, the battery blanket saved the truck

    Use the stock nuts,with the threads on them, and the stock caps. I did this when I put Dodge rims on my truck, used the stock gmc nuts/caps

    Check the transfer case/ trans adaptor. Mine had stress cracks and leaking from the top, then down the side.

    Put a 9/16 wrench on the TC shift shaft,with encoder motor removed, see if you can move it to 4 high. Might have to jack up the rear diff so axle will roll, while trying to shift.

    I have wrapped masking tape, I perfer yellow, around the scoket , write two marks on it 90 degrees apart. Put a reference start mark on the head.

    I remove the front tires and inner plastic fenders to get at the manifolds, remove the MM bolts and jack up engine with floor jack and a piece of 2x4 under the oil pan, remove mounts.
