Hey guys, I have a 2007 Yukon with the 5.3 in it and noticed a while ago the oil was low after about 3000 miles. I topped it up anticipating an oil change in the near future and ever since I've noticed a burnt oil smell coming from under the hood. No I did not spill a drop of oil on the...
Got the rears on last night and just in time.
The wife had some idiot pull out in front of her on the freeway this morning and she said she stood on the brakes and she said she would have hit the guy for sure a week ago. She said she's never stopped that quick in that truck ever.
The brakes...
High priced OE parts are for those who dont know any better and/or cant install in your own garage.
It's highway robbery, i dont know how they sleep at night. I work at a heavy equipment dealership and it's the same thing here.
Thanks man,
I got the whole set, four rotors and four sets of pads at local speed shop for $650 including taxes.
Not too bad considering going with OE would have been $600 just for the front rotors and they would have been junk in short order.
Dam dude! The esKONali is a sick lookin ride! That's a great look you have goin there. Very well thought out.
I haven't been on the forum in a while, job change and things got busy for me, but man there are some nice looking rides on here.
Still one of the best forums out there IMHO.
I've...
So, I've had my Yukon for a year now and it came with a set of HID's (don't have the stock ones) and I've never had a problem but this morning I walk into my garage and the headlights are on. No other lights just the headlights. I washed the truck yesterday but other than that nothings been done...
Lately have been using Meguire's Hot Shine Tire Spray on all things black and plastic including running boards and under the hood.
I love the stuff, i use it inside the fender-wells as well.
Doesn't make the tires too shiny but a nice deep black.
No it's not high temp paint but so far so good. It's been done for about a month now and I've washed it with the high pressure washer and all and it still looks as good as the day i painted it. The temperature sure doesn't seem to be an issue.
Thanks for the compliment.
Thanks man, you should have seen the kid at the service bay when i got my oil changed. He was grinning from ear to ear.
My wife just laughed and said "I can't wait to show all the ladies in the parking lot at the grocery store". She sees no reason to do it but at least has a sense of humor...
You're right it would not have looked right to paint the discs silver with the black rims. Now with the black rims the red really stands out. All that pain of removing the wheels and all that really pays off in the long run. Good job man.
Dam i'm glad spring is here.
I think next year when i redo them ill do it a little later in the year to avoid the salt and grime but maybe by then I'll be able to swing a set of Stainless discs.

Here's some pics.
On second look there is some degradation, not bad though considering the fact that we get six months of salt and slush up here.
The stuff I used was VHT caliper paint.
As you can see on the disc though, the factory wheels have a slightly larger mounting surface than the...
It's the starter solenoid not engaging. Did you tap the starter or the solenoid?
The solenoid is the little can hanging off the side of the starter a little smaller than a popcan.
I did mine in flat black. i thought with a white truck it would have stood out to much. I did my disks as well. Went to Canadian Tire and bought one of those wire wheels you can put in your drill and unloaded all the rust in seconds so it had some nice fresh bare metal to stick to and did them...
