    P0340 and P0341

1 camshaft sensor. That code can be a few things. Camshaft sensor, wire connectors to the sensor, broken wire in the main harness, or even a bad circuit in the computer or aftermarket cam of course. Is it behaving funny at all? taking longer to start? poor fuel mileage, etc? A good mech will...

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure

My 2 cents. DOD is great in concept but in application has high probability of failure. I know a shop where HALF of their work is DOD delete on LS and LT engines, $4100. They love it. Without DOD, the 5.3's and 6.2's are great! My 6.2 made it to 90K and I "tuned" out DOD at 50K. I would not buy...

AFM lifter fail on my 2018 Yukon Denali

Cool. That is the one they actually sell with the kit. I'll get that one too. Thanks again!

AFM lifter fail on my 2018 Yukon Denali

Thanks for the update. I want to try that cam. The Lower lift and bigger fuel lobe must be giving you more lower end TQ, which is translating into increased responsiveness with less throttle, thereby also the better fuel mileage. I have all my parts now except for the cam but I can't find that...

AFM lifter fail on my 2018 Yukon Denali

Good walkthrough! Thanks! How many hours did that take you, in work? 30-40? And you didn't change the tune for that cam? Just DOD "tuned" off? I am procrastinating on mine. I have decent ticking on the driver's side, and has for about 10K miles. Ticking like a time bomb. LOL. Thanks again.....I...

    Scored lifters and camshaift replacement

That sounds about right for cam and lifter replacement at a dealer. It's a lot of work and the worst part is, it won't fix the problem. You'll still have a DOD engine and it will fail again. What you should do if you want it to last, is find a shop that will put it back together with a DOD...

6.6 Gas L8T Engine Swap in 2015 Suburban

They are doing it. Mast and TSP offer the L8T with port injection options. Mast has one with a charger on it and 1000+ hp. All you need is 58x reluctor computer and a gen v intake with injector provisions. I think the tuning would be easier on the port injection. Don't know about the front...

6.6 Gas L8T Engine Swap in 2015 Suburban

Cool swap! I've been looking at same with my 2016 Escalade as its starting to tick a little louder than I would like, even with DOD "tuned" off. GM sells a 6.6L long block and it should drop right in as the external points are all the same, even intake and exhaust. The work is the tune and...

    Considering 2015-2018 Denali, best transmission?

I have a 2019 Sub 6.2 10spd and its a great tow vehicle! Tows almost as good as my Ram 2500 Cummins but handles better. With an 8000lb load gets about 10-12mpg and has no problem with hills or trans temps in 110 degree heat in AZ....where the speed limit is 75mph with a trailer. I also recently...

I'm about to buy a 2018 Tahoe Premier, please give me your insight!

Premier is good, Premier with 6.2 is better.....2018 5.3 for 40K seems kinda high, but that's been normal. Here in CA I'm seeing SUV prices (along with RE) crashing with rising rates, recession looming and gas sticking at $5.50 a gallon. I just got an 2015 Escalade 2WD, 70K miles for $30K...

Arnott sk3354 vs. Acdelco o.e. ride quality?

I am still undecided. To me, the price just seems kinda high for a non adjustable strut with a baked in magride simulator. I bought some sims off amazon so I'll plug those in and if they work, I'll select some shocks. The Bilstein 6112 kit is $800 and has 2.5" body and adjustable height. I have...

Arnott sk3354 vs. Acdelco o.e. ride quality?

I'm leaning towards the Arnotts. They say lifetime warranty and built-in computer bypass. Computer bypass is the key. Otherwise I'd go Fox or Rancho. I read they are designed by Arnott but built by Eibach. And if they are good enough for Thrust with the supercharger and big brakes they are worth...

Arnott sk3354 vs. Acdelco o.e. ride quality?

I think it depends on the ride that you like. I like firm. I have a 15 Escalade and previous owner had already installed NER magneride knockoffs. I like firm but below 65mph they are way too stiff. Above 65 they ride great! In reading the posts it sounds like Arnotts have a softer ride. I'm...

    2500 Overheating when towing

I'll watch to see how you get the cooling temps down. I kinda have the same problem with towing larger loads, 6000lbs+, with my 03 Tahoe. It has a built 6.0L and trans and powertrain is not a problem. I'm so impressed by it towing capability. But this week it was 110+ degrees in AZ and the stop...

    Best fridge for Tahoe Z-71

I don't know what size you are looking for....like console cooler or larger. I use a Dometic CFX3 45. It works great and plugs into the 12V plug in the back of my Sub. They have various sizes. They have them on amazon or other places.

Will 5.3 to 6.0 (LQ4) make a big difference in towing?

I've decided to put the 6.0 Tahoe to the test on towing......Trailer + car inside + spares + tools is about 6K lbs. Towed it no problema....I was worried most about the tongue weight. As you can see it is squatted a bit but not much. I have Z71 springs in the rear. But it handled great! If this...

Renamed: 06 Esky LS364/450 Build (New Leather Seat covers)

Looking forward to the results. I swapped to a 6.0 last summer and love it. I wrestled with the LS364/450 vs 6.0 with cathedrals. I had done the 6.0/LS3 heads before in a camaro and the LS3 heads are low on TQ below 3000. But above 3000 they light up especially with a big cam. I did an LQ9 with...

Cost of New Tahoe/Escalade vs Resto

Just a general observation. With most dealers having low amounts new inventory on trucks Tahoes subs, and eskys, I've seen markups of $10K-$30K over MSRP....$30K for Escalades. Used Tahoes are way up in price too. I started my resto of a 2003 Tahoe earlier in the Year and just got it out of...

2003 Suburban EASIEST EFAN Swap Ever!!

I'm looking to do the efan upgrade. I haven't yet as I've seen the torment from others. I've read and seen on YouTube where people get so frustrated with failure they just go back to the mechanical fan. Does anyone have a good parts list for the efan upgrade? I don't mind buying new parts. What...

Will 5.3 to 6.0 (LQ4) make a big difference in towing?

A built 6.0 will tow it easy. I have an LQ9 with shaved 317 heads and a torque focused cam. I get 350lbs of TQ at 1500rpms and 490lbs at 4900rpms (crank) And I still get 19mpg on highway at 80mph.....not towing. towing is around 12-13. A stock 5.3 in 2003 put out 315lbs of TQ Max around...

    P0300 misfire help

You should just order a stock reman 6.0 long block and bolts right in. Less work and uncertainty. Subs are big and heavy.....needs more torque.

    06 Z71 Tahoe 2wd - 5.5” front 3.5” rear - 35s

Cool .....Squatted! I kinda like that. I had my Tahoe squatted for like 1 day....when I was installing and testing the lift. It got a lot of looks and I swear it handled the best its ever handled.....LOL

    MBRP Exhaust Installed with Video.

BTR S2 is good cam. So is the summit racing towing cam. Both are similar. Focus on TQ to 5500. Its a heavy vehicle....it needs all the TQ it can get.
