Sorry for the delay. Phone went dead and had to buy a new one. Note 8 if you're wondering. The driver's side headlight is aimed slightly higher, this is due to me not installing the headlight housing completely flush, I'll have to tackle this later. So far I'm loving it. No problems at all. Not...
Yeah, the stock halogens don't project light down the road far enough. I hit a deer doing about 70mph, swerved enough to just hit the head. Would have been avoidable with better lighting.
Installed these projectors from Vanquish Auto about a week ago. Here are some pics during the day. Ill post night pictures later. The difference in light output is tremendous. The stock halogens are absolute garbage and borderline dangerous to drive with. Bulb color is 5k. Has a very nice cut...
Sorry, I should have been more clear with my last post. The phone and the Belkin dongle connects via wifi but an Internet connection is not needed. The wifi is ad hoc only.
Sort of like bluetooth. Example: your phone can connect to a bluetooth earpiece but a interent connection is not needed.
The Belkin does not provide wifi. For example, I can't connect my pc to it and surf the web. It simply just mirrors my phone. Exactly like Chromecast, but a wifi connection is not needed.
Hence the reason I went with Belkin, no need to use data for a hotspot.
There has got to be a way through some sort of USB dongle.
I was going to go the chromecast way but decided to use Belkin Miracast instead since I don't have to use my phone as a hotspot.
I'll research further.
After installing my 8200nex, I wanted to know if I could use Android Auto through a wireless connection? Sort of like Belkins Mirracast that is able to mirror your phones screen without wifi.
Currently in order for me to use Android Auto, I have to be wired to my usb receptacle that was in my...
Not entirely sure what harness you used, but if you used the one from Maestro it comes with a short wiring harness, 1 end has a 3 male rca's and the other is a female box like receiver. Plug the rca end that says backup cam into the avic (think it is the brown plug) and hookup the receiver into...
Thanks for the reply and video link. I was hoping that I didn't have to remove the head unit again to mount the GPS antennae, but oh well. Yeah I don't even think my black speaker did anything so it's not hooked up. I'm hoping to install the backup camera on Sunday, got a license plate one...
Just did this install with the sosche faceplate and the 8200 with the maestro, it does fit with simply cutting the back plastic bracket. Also by cutting the back plastic bracket gives you a bit more room to stuff the Maestro and the wiring harness.
Calsdad, did you end up using the small...
Hey how is your camera holding up? Very interested in this but weary, I'm a believer of you get what you pay for. $20 is a steal.
Also are you able to view the feed anytime you want using your 8200? I know their is a dedicated button for it but wanted to know does it only futon when in reverse.
Thanks for the update. Couple questions though. Did you install a rear camera as well? If so, are you able to view it even when not in reverse? I know the head unit has an allocated button for it but wanted to know if it's only functional in reverse.
When you say you had to to put your OEMS back on; did you mean you had to put the OEM bulbs back in or the entire headlight housing?
Are you currently running this setup now? If so what headlight bulb are you using?
So these headlights come with a projector housing?
What would the benefits be of running LED for the headlight over an HID bulb?
Basically, is this the answer that a lot of us have been looking for other than going with a complete retro fit?
Sorry, I'm a newb. But yes, I did read through...
