With all the Condensation on the inside of the glass I believe that car has a water leak inside it.

‘11 Denali - What’s up with my suspension?

I have seen the electronic shocks on both Denali’s and Escalades freeze, as in the shock piston will not move. I would take it to a shop and have it checked.

5.3 Max Tow or Denali 6.2

Yes. The 5.3 just doesn’t have the torque that the 6.2 does. And torque is what moves weight. If you have a lot of large hills like we do in Pa, you want the 6.2, flat area you will be fine with the 5.3

5.3 Max Tow or Denali 6.2

I have towed with both the 5.3 and our old Denali, and I will tell you there is a night and day difference between the two. The 6.2 rows with ease where the 5.3 causes you to dig deep into the skinny pedal. Remember there is no replacement for displacement. Unless it’s boost! Boost fixes...

Brake upgrade on 2000 Yukon or Tahoe

There are a lot of mitigating factors in your accident, slick roads, rain, and tire conditions all play a significant factor in a vehicles ability to stop. As such you have a Suburban which weighs more than the Yukon/Tahoe. My Yukon prior to the caliper upgrade was impossible to cause the front...

Brake upgrade on 2000 Yukon or Tahoe

So I am aware this subject has been beaten to death on this forum but I wanted to write this so that the average idiot (such as myself) could understand it. I own a 2000 GMC Yukon SLT with 85k miles on it. I have ALWAYS hated the stopping abilities of this truck, as it is BY FAR the biggest...

Overheating towing with Denali 6.2L - Losing my F'n mind!!

Remove radiator cap have engine drive belt off, coolant level in the radiator full. Have someone crank the engine, if you see any bubbles you have an internal leak. Repeat with a warm engine if no bubbles.

Overheating towing with Denali 6.2L - Losing my F'n mind!!

I have seen failed head gaskets cause near zero coolant loss, yet cylinder pressure will over come the coolant system thus causing an air pocket that the water pump is incapable of pumping. Cranking the engine without the drive belt installed will quickly reveal a failed gasket or cylinder head...

Overheating towing with Denali 6.2L - Losing my F'n mind!!

I’m an ASE certified master tech, provided that the cooling fans are working, I am fairly certain that you have a failed head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. Simple removal of the spark plugsby a qualified tech and review of the plugs will normally yield a diagnosis. The first and most simple...

    Input please.. Front end work

We charge 20% on parts, and that is MORE than fair. If you want to keep a good technician as an employee you must pay them a competitive wage. If I did not charge 20% markup on parts I could not employ them. They would simply move on to greener pastures. So yes to answer your question we charge...

    Input please.. Front end work

I will whole heartedly disagree with much of what has been said in this thread. I own a repair shop, and employ 3 ASE certified techs. Each tech earns about 60 to 65k a year, PLUS benefits. If you want your car fixed correctly by qualified technicians it will cost money. I would NEVER install a...

'18 Expedition Platinum vs '18 Yukon Denali

If I was looking for a large full size suv and willing to drop north of 60k, AND I was concerned about quality and resale value, and reliability, I would be looking at a one or two year old Toyota Land Cruiser or better yet Lexus LX570. Their reliability is without question the best in the world...

    2008 Tahoe Fuel Delivery Issue?

I am an ASE Certified Master Tech. Before you do ANY further the next thing I would check is the catalytic converters on the truck. This sounds like a classic example of a bad converter which is either melted or broken turning sideways under load and restricting exhaust flow. The test can be as...

The truth behind synthetic oil (my story)

That's a great point...btw has anybody ever heard what it takes to classify an engine oil as a synthetic blend? Is it 1% 5% 75% been in this industry a long time and I have never heard the standards to achieve this classification mentioned by any oil manufacture. Therefore it makes me slightly...

The truth behind synthetic oil (my story)

As per Blackstone's own website. " What's the best oil to use? Ah, the million dollar question. We are an independent lab, so we don't make recommendations. It has been our experience that oil is oil, and either petroleum or synthetic-based oil will work well for just about any engine. Come on...

The truth behind synthetic oil (my story)

As an ASE certified master Tech, I will say with undoubting certainty that oil change intervals are FAR MORE important to an engines longevity and cleanliness than the type of oil used. Testing on one of my own previous vehicles (2010 Yukon Denali) proved this out. Vehicle had a 5k OCI and...

Help! 07 Yukon died on side of road!

As a little frame of reference I am an ASE certified master tech. Given that I do not see what truck you have I would assume that it's a 07 or later given that the dash is telling your transmission fluid temps. Your transmission fluid temps are NOT out of line for a vehicle towing a heavy load...

    DEALER RAPE STORY

Sorry guys but I have to disagree here with many of the statements that Maximus has made. I too own a shop. And yes, we make a profit on parts and labor. Which is why we have been in business for 30+ years. If I gave labor away and made no profit on parts I would be OUT OF BUSINESS in 2 months...

Police Tahoe Package-Anything special with the engine?

I have seen MULTIPLE tahoes, Yukons, and Escalades with bad crimps on both the positive and negative battery terminals where the wire is connected to the terminals and connectors causing no start issues as well as as litany of other electrical issues. CHECK THE CONNECTIONS FIRST!

    Traction Devices / Snow Tires

Yes it is advisable to get a second set of wheels. However, you can fit seriously inexpensive 16 or 17" wheels and tires to these vehicles with no issues. A simple call to any of the major tire and wheel players on the internet will garner you an idea of price, heck, most have a "build your own...

    Traction Devices / Snow Tires

As someone who sells tires I will tell you with no uncertainty that there is NO SUBSTITUTE for a modern technology snow tire such as the blizzak or Michelin x ice, or any of the other major manufacturers snow tires. The best all season tires don't even come close to their performance on snow...
