Mushy Brake Pedal After New Brake Lines

brasil...I agree, it sure feels like there is still air in there. I did a manual bleed last time and got a bunch more air out. The pedal came up and hard. But...it still feels mushy when you first start it up. I think it's time to invest in a handheld.... I need a new one anyway since...

Mushy Brake Pedal After New Brake Lines

Last fall I had a rusted brake line blow in my '03 XL (fortunately, no harm to people or vehicles). I then replaced EVERYTHING. Decided to do some other work while I was under there, so it sat for a couple months. Tried a pressure bleeder (hand pump style), thought it was working ok, but still...

    Info screen is acting crazy

It's actually quite easy. The dash cover comes off with no tools required. There are 4 screws holding the cluster in. You have to tilt the steering wheel down all the way, and move the gear selector down all the way too. There is a video that is very good at showing how to do it. Pretty...

    Info screen is acting crazy

Update: Just thought I would complete this one, just in case someone else has the same issue. I sent my cluster to https://circuitboardmedics.com/ I got their standard repair (no LEDs, trans temp, etc.) and they did a great job. They claimed they would turn it around in 24 hours and they...

    Info screen is acting crazy

My '03 XL has a crazy info screen. For the last few months the screen has been randomly changing languages. hour meter/trip odometers-all reset themselves. Odometer seemed to be functioning so I really didn't care that it was flipping languages. Had a brakline blowout, so replaced the entire...

    Front end suspension/steering replacement?

I plan on replacing the intermediate shaft when I install the new steering box....tired of the 'clunk'... was puttin off replacing the box, but I got hosed when the shop tried to take the slop out of the steering when they did the alignment. Messed up the shaft seal. Now, I have no choice...

    Front end suspension/steering replacement?

last year on my '03 XL I used Moog problem solver parts (upper/lower arms, tierods, end links, idler pitman). Pitman arm didn't fit. Had to use Cardone. Anyone have suggestions on steering box replacements?

    Front end work troubles

Thought I would update... Over the weekend, I opened the hood and found a puddle of fluid on top of the steering box. So, I decided to leave it alone for now. It was seeping a little before the repair, not sure why it got worse. Since, my house is anything but flat or level, I decided to just...

    Front end work troubles

They did an alignment. I glanced at the numbers and they seemed ok, but will check more closely. I put on the ticket, that I wanted the ride height checked before and after, that way it would end up in the same place. We like (ok, the wife likes) the slight rake look. I thought it looked a...

    Front end work troubles

I just had my '03 XL worked on, had all Moog parts in. I wish I knew about the Moog pitman arm issue. Turns out the Moog idler arm didn't fit either. the shop put TRW in. Now the steering is really tight, and lots of steering corrections. Larryjb, is that what your steering felt like?

    TPMS RESET ISSUES

It's certainly worth it to keep trying. The TPMs are a sealed unit, battery not replaceable (unless someone here has a way). I read (here I think), that the battery lasts 8-10 years. I bought my Envoy in late '14 with 95k miles on it. There was nothing wrong with them, just figured they...

    TPMS RESET ISSUES

It could be a dead battery in the TPM. I replaced mine in a '08 Envoy, when I had tires put on, figuring they were close to going dead. Not sure, but I think you need a special tool to reset/sync the TPMs.

    steering box issue

Just got my '03 XL back from the shop. I had most of the front end part replaced: upper arms lower arms tie rod ends idler arm pitman arm Tech tells me the steering box has a 'flat spot' in it. I thought, well after 184k miles that might be possible. I read some threads about 'sloppy steering...

    Brush guard fit

I have an opportunity to get a Brush guard from Onki. However, it is for a '03-'06 Sierra 1500HD. I have a '03 Yukon XL. It seems like (from the website pics) that there is little difference between them, possible only the mounting brackets. I always assumed that the frame/under carriage...

    Grocery getter getting a makeover

upper arms with poly bushings? Where? Last time I looked for tires, I found out there is no Firestone close to me. Hopefully I can plan it so I only have to do the alignment once. Also unfortunate, is the the wheels/tires purchase will be the biggest expense, compared to all the other stuff...

Anything under that much tension isn't fun. I've done alot of coil springs, and they scare the s**t out of me every time. I haven't had a new vehicle in a long time so WD40 is my best friend!! ...along with the hot wrench.:893Chainsaw-Smilie- That's what I was thinking, gonna do all that...

    Grocery getter getting a makeover

I just read through 'Build Thread for keys and spacers' thread in your post. Wow!, that is exactly what I am planning on doing. I must say you had a lot of patience answering everyone's questions. For me though, it answered just about everything I need, all in one spot. I think we are going...

    Grocery getter getting a makeover

'03 Yukon XL 4WD I am finally getting around to some much needed suspension attention. I am thinking of a modest 2.5" lift. I've seen lift kits that appear to have lift/level...which I don't want (not into the 'squat' look) I've read a bunch of threads in this section and I think I've come up...

    Window question

Yes, lube everything. Before I installed the regulator assembly I sprayed everything except the rubber track with white lithium grease. It's been almost a month now, and so far...it's been ok. I have a speaker issue in the RF door, while I am in there, I'm going coat the regulator and...

    Window question

Learn from my mistakes, replace the entire unit. AC Delco unit came yesterday. Looks alot beefier the the others. DCT, you are correct, no lube on the tracks. Gonna put it in this weekend (including some white lithium grease on the tracks). I'll let you know how it goes. I guess the...
