    Goodbye

I'm still on here every so often as I enjoy reading and seeing what people have done to their trucks. Here's a pic of the new ride. SL midnight edition 4x4

    Goodbye

As much as it saddens me, I decided against a new Tahoe and purchased a new Nissan Armada. I thought I was a die hard Chevy guy but after seeing and reading all the issues people are having with brand new tucks, I decided that I did not want that headache in my life. While I have owned many...

Cam swap people, what cam did you go with and how do you like it?

It does not shake. Every so often it will jump while at a stop light. I did not want to go to big with the cam because it is my daily driver and I only wanted to do a top end build. If you get too aggressive with the cam then your looking at having to upgrade the fuel pump, fuel injectors...

Here is what I put in my 07. I wanted to remove the AFM system. I rebuilt the tranny but kept the factory stall. It runs...

    Range Technology Device For Sale

For Sale: Range AFM Disabler. $45.00 I have been using this in my 2007 Tahoe to disable V4 mode. It works great. I decided to remove the AFM by rebuilding my engine and no longer need to use the Range. Please let me know if you are interested.

    Let the build commence.........

Build update...just got back from the tuner and all I have to say is WOW! She moves for only getting a cam, springs, rods, and trunnions. My local tuner did a great job. I'm going back and will put her on the dyno once I install headers. It was a labor intensive job as it took me about seven...

    Let the build commence.........

Long story short, I decided to keep the otherwise stock Tahoe and document her journey as I breath new life into her 5/3. I'm not exactly sure how far I'm going to take this as I will let her decide. So far I have had the tranny rebuilt with stronger internals and added a corvette servo. (The...

2011 Tahoe sputters under low RPM

Click the button on your dash that shows if your in V8 or V4 mode. Next time it happens, look to see which mode this is happening in and let us know. It's probably happening while in V4 because you stated that if you step on the gas peddle slowly it still happens. This is because most likely...

    Just went over 300K!

2007 5.3 Original engine and trans. My advice would be to stay away from the dealership if you need work done. If you are mechanical, do your own repairs. Once my warranty expired, I started to perform my own maintenance (Seems I'm pretty good since I've got over 300K). Here's a list of a...

4 cyl to 8 cyl, don't like it, question?

I purchased "the range" a while back and its been great. Some on here may write negative things about it and tell you to get a tune, but so far "the range" has served its purpose in my opinion.

    TPMS question

I recently replaced my tires and I had the shop remove the sensors without replacing them. I was not going to pay around $350 to replace the broken sensors. I don't mind using a tire pressure gauge.

Got rid of the diesel sound on my 2007 denali

I too had the clicking noise. I'm not sure if it is piston slap or bad lifters. I read about Marvel Mystery oil. I took out a quart of oil and put in the MMO and it sounds like it is running a lot better. Since putting in the MMO I have not had the noise. I guess we will never really know what...

Have you replaced oil filter under Oil pressure sensor?

Here was my post from April: Driving home today I noticed I didn't have oil pressure and the check engine light was on. I pulled into Auto Zone and they scanned it for me. Seems I had the P0523 code. While there I picked up a new sensor. I then stopped by my Chevy dealership and picked up the...

    P0523 Repaired Today

Driving home today I noticed I didn't have oil pressure and the check engine light was on. I pulled into Auto Zone and they scanned it for me. Seems I had the P0523 code. While there I picked up a new sensor. I then stopped by my Chevy dealership and picked up the little filter screen that goes...

    AFM system issues?

I had the same issue. I purchased the range device and it went away. You could also get a tune and turn off the AFM. Either way, it occurs when going from 8 to 4 cylinder mode.

    Cracked Dash?

I contacted Chevrolet and my local dealer. My dealer told me that they base what they'll reimburse based on my year and mileage. Needless to say, I'm out of warranty and chevy is out a customer. The dealer told me that this is an ongoing problem and he can't do much. How did you only pay $100?
