    Help! Electrical diagnosis needed.

OK, I will add these cables on my shopping list. The headache is which one is the right one? Many choices for my truck, even VIN is given. Some of them can cost $100+. Update, day 3 and day 4 are trouble free, runs like a champ again!

    Help! Electrical diagnosis needed.

The Bosch Premium battery is only 3 or 4 months old (with 3 year free replacement warranty). It's not AGM, but should be pretty decent. This truck seems to be very friendly to batteries, the first one, OE AC Delco took 11 years to die, the 2nd one, Die Hard Gold took 7. Are battery cables...

    Help! Electrical diagnosis needed.

If the battery or cable is bad, how to explain the engine shot off during driving? One needs no battery when the engine is revving, isn't it right?

    Power steering issue help

For a remanufactured steering gear box, there are 4 Production Codes to choose from, AX, LS, UT, and YK. I don't see any of them on the glove box sticker, most of codes on there are 3 characters.

    Power steering issue help

My hard right turning only happens at very low speed (<5mph), once the engine revs over 1,000rpm, the power kicks in. I suspect the spool value in the gear box gets clogged or broken on one direction. If the linkage is bad, it should have nothing to do with engine speed, right? I'm searching a...

    Power steering issue help

Lowhoe775, you are not alone, my 01 Yukon does some similar thing, the power steering loses the power when turning right, even from the most left point. Turning left is totally fine. Fortunately, it happens only under around 3mph, basically the parking lot speed, but it makes the parking a...

1 quart low after 3,000 miles

5w30 to 10w30 My 01 Yukon has only 80k miles now, far from high mileage. I noticed this oil consumption since 50k. I used to use 10w30, then changed to 5w30, but forgot since when. I'll try go back to 10w30 next time. Thanks.

1 quart low after 3,000 miles

After putting the new PCV in, the oil consumption is still the same, one quart between oil changes. Since there is no any deposit on the ground, the oil must be burned. Any other idea how it gets burned? Do oil additives help? Thanks.

Nissan Titan 18" rim as a spare

For those who got big rotor (>= 13") upgrade, especially on 4 corners, the OE 16" spare fits no more. I put 4 SSBC 14" big rotors on a couple years back, but never realized I had been carrying a useless spare around until now. Fortunately, nothing happened. 17" Chevy/GMC spare is not...

1 quart low after 3,000 miles

OK, worth a try! Bought a fixed orifice PCV for $.99, it is the updated one for 03 and beyond, I heard it is OK for 01 Yukon. There is nothing but a fixed orifice at the bottom in this PCV, don't know why it can replace the original spring plug one. For this simple design, if you pay...

1 quart low after 3,000 miles

1 quart loss between oil change My Yukon (2001 5.3L, 75k miles) started to lose 1 quart of oil when it's time to change oil (about 6k miles interval) two years ago, there is no any oil leak on the ground, no smoke from the pipe either. The smog check looks fine too, here are the numbers...

    Thinking about buying a Tahoe.

I would say fuel pump, nothing else is major. Check this forum for fuel pump. Buy a spare one online, save you $100 at least. Replace it if it has not been replaced before. You won't feel good if it suddenly dies on you in the middle of no where.

    Easy HID retrofit

You can see the "slots" in the halogen projectors, there is no such "slots" in Morimoto projectors. So, you are right, I have not started to retrofit yet. I just can't stand the old bumper lamps anymore, I have to get rid of them first. I'll share some experience on retrofitting, stay tune.

    Easy HID retrofit

new bumper lights are here The clear bumper lights off eBay were here. The new housing lacks of socket stoppers, hope not to cause any trouble. It took me some time to decide which bulbs to go with these clear lamps. Chrome 3157 amber was the first thing in my mind for...

    2002 Yukon Xl subwoofer

Polk Audio MM840 8" subwoofer I don't think you will be satisfied with the upgrade of subwoofer alone. The factory speakers are so dumb, once you upgrade your sub, you will be thinking upgrade everything else. So, draw a big picture, and do it step by step. The subwoofer should be the one close...

    Easy HID retrofit

Thanks for the encouragement. I am thinking about writing something that you can't find some where else, like the Eagle Eyes projector review. For the retrofit, if I find something new or different from others, I definitely will update my thread. Otherwise, it will depend on if I have time to kill.

    Rear Bumper Rubber Removal

I think it is possible. They are plugged in. I tried to take them off a bit (not the whole pieces), they did come off. Start from the middle (above license plate), they have less plugs there, push plugs out from underneath.

3 or 4 Stars for Eagle Eyes The Denali headlights have the same mounts, were put in within 5 minutes. Could be sooner if you can unplug/plug wire connectors faster. The retrofit work has not started yet, the first thing is to test fitness of this Eagle Eyes set, ( I know, the bumper...

not many choices I think yours is pre 03 model, the head unit opening is about 3.3". I am looking for a DVD receiver for my 01 Yukon as well. So far, I have these single DIN candidates with a little larger screen sizes, but still fit in (no flip-up please): Power Acoustik PD-535...

    Easy HID retrofit

TRS HID kits are pricy Since 4 hi mod is in my mind, a lower Kelvin HID should match 9005 better. I'm not a fan of high Kelvin anyway. I think DDM kit are cheaper, with life time warranty. TRS kits are kind of pricy to me.

    Easy HID retrofit

There is a tutorial originally from other site, and it is for Yukon only, not apply to Tahoe, sorry Chevy! Everybody knows HID performs the best with HID housing, but taking too much work to retrofit is not worth to me. That's why I have been wandering for years to find an easier solution...

    cranks wont start

My 01 Yukon had a fuel pump replacement two months ago. The engine fired up, but stalled within 2 seconds. The first thing I did was to replace the fuel filter, no help. I did get some codes about the O2 sensor, I think it is caused by uncompleted combustion. After replaced the pump, everything...
