Since larger wheels are more common these days, the price difference isn't as bad as it used to be, but I'll guess and say there's a difference of at least $20-30 per tire for 22's vs 20's. Get on eBay and do some searching...I had the best luck on there, vs other online stores or tire dealers...
I agree with 2ELO about the 285's. I'm running 285/50/22's which are like 33.2 x 11.45 or something close, w/ a 2.5"/1.5" kit and they don't look "wimpy" to me at all.
In regards to rubbing, I don't know if there is added issues between the Nitto TG's like I have vs a M/T since the M/T's...
I've always been die hard GMC, but I saw another Victory Red Tahoe in town earlier this week with everything painted red like my Yukon, but with the factory chrome 20's...man, how I thought my black 22's would look so nice on it. Only thing I wish my Yukon had was a raised hood (for lack of...
I almost almost almost bought a set of Lorenzo WL17's (2nd wheel). I've seen pics of Hoes & Yukes with both the WL17's and the WL20's (1st wheel). Definitely thought the WL17's looked sharp. The WL20's look alright on a Tahoe/Avalanche, but not so much on a Yukon, IMO. Don't care much for the...
I feel your pain with wheel searching... One of the reasons I went with a set of takeoff factory 22's...I knew they wouldn't "stick out" like a roller skate!
I installed a 2.5 front / 1.5 rear kit. Running 285/50/22'ss (33x11.5) and had to do a fair amount of trimming and mod work to the fenderwell plastic on the front for turning angles. Wheels are OEM and have slightly higher offset than my factory 20's.
As a newbie Yukon owner, I've discovered...
I wish I had the connections to get hooked up with somebody with the know-how to manufacture after-market headlights that don't look cheezy like everything currently on the market for our Yukons. Why does everything have to be "halos" and look like it belongs on a space ship? Why can't one of...
If you're not wanting to look too "off-roady" I don't think you're going to accomplish that with 37" grapplers...not exactly going to look like a street truck with tires that big, but I say go for it if you're wanting a lifted truck. You're not going to be able to fit those tires with just a...
That sucks David. Hit and runs happen all the time out here in Lubbock too...damn people with no insurance! Almost had a similar experience this weekend...left "the bar" after an evening with some friends and some F-150 jackass had parallel parked in front of me and his bumper and hitch were...
Ugly wheels IMO...looks like a roller skate waiting to roll around the rink jammin' to Footloose or Danger Zone. And the lift offsets the front end out from the truck way too much also...wonder if it's a FabTech?...those were notorious for offsetting the front ends on the HD NBS trucks...
LOL, nearly every Powerstroke Excursion I've ever seen has had a rediculously huge lift on it. There used to be two here in Lubbock. One relocated his headlights into the bumper it was so tall.
Always agreed that GM should offer the D-Max on the Suburbans. I remember reading a story on it...
hmmmmm...well then I guess I'll keep my eyes peeled. Always wanted a Corsa sport exhaust, but never wanted to pay $1,100 for one! I wish Corsa would offer just the muffler without the tubing or tips...I'll probably end up modifying their catback system into turn-downs and dump just inside the...
Is it just me, or has anyone else with an '09 / '10 Yukon/Tahoe been frustrated with browsing for aftermarket parts online?
I realize there's typically a lag when a new model year is introduced for the manufacturers to update their engineering & websites for whatever changes GM makes, but I...
I know this is gonna be a few days late and a couple dollars short, but last night was the first chance I've had to get some pics under the Yukon. Similar to InTruckDesign's post.
I'm glad everyone else is on the ball. I just logged on, and already clicked on a link to both my forum and CarDomain member pages. Looks like my wheels chopped into Stevek's post too. I was all giddy when I saw the title of the thread, but obviously you were wanting pics of a "Red Jewel"...
I got a chuckle out of this thread. I didn't realize everyone was so passionate about AutoZone! I believe it's always a bonus when you go to "any" store and are actually able to talk to somebody with some knowledge, but it's totally understandable the majority of auto parts store employees...
I agree. Keep the tires, but buy new rims. I think you'll save time and money. I've never even heard of anyone converting a 6-lug to an 8-lug. Only seen the 8-lug to 10-lug conversion for dually's on big rig 24's.
