    DIY Alternator Replacement

Yeah the white lithium grease and some grunt got it in there. The left side went right in but the right side took a little more cussing to get it in there. Without the grease it would have probably been a lot worse.

How to override your Dome Light setting

I didn’t really think the section at the top of the control was intended to be pressed. I thought it was a label that corresponded to the dial/knob. Not the actual plastic piece above the knob. That’s where I was confused. But had I opened up the manual I could have solved my confusion.

    Engine Bay Cleaning

So for me personally, I do not think using tire foam as a one step cleaner on anything is good. It’s basically foaming up a ton of grease grime and dirt and then bubbling it down to a shiny finish. Short cuts in car detailing are nothing new, but I’ve yet to find one that is worth it. Where...

How to override your Dome Light setting

Not sure if this applies to all 2007-2014 Tahoes, but I just figured out how the dome light override feature works in the 2012 PPV. I did a video on it (link below) for anyone who was like me and did not know this. It’s sort of hidden in plain sight if you ask me. I feel kinda dumb that I rode...

    PPV Poor Turning Radius

Makes sense. Thanks for the input! I think I’m hearing what I am going through may be normal. I think having the big push bar up front is also making me paranoid I’m going to clip someone with it while entering or exiting spots. But I don’t want to get rid of it bc it looks cool as shit and also...

Yep I definitely park with the vehicle pointing so I can drive out instead of reverse out. Funny I just parked this way right before reading your post! Thanks

    PPV Poor Turning Radius

I did move to 70 series tires. I think I’m going to get it aligned and see what cones of it. But if anyone has suggestions beyond that please hmu.

    PPV Poor Turning Radius

My 2012 Tahoe PPV seems to have AWFUL turning radius. It’s about the only gripe I have with it this far. Is there anything that I should check or anything I can do to make parking this beast a little better? It’s SUPER tough to back out if I’m between cars and there’s a row behind me and the...

    Oil Filter efficiency

I appreciate the insight. I am using the PF63 filter. The Motor Oil Geek is covering this subject so I’m looking forward to what is said.

    Oil Filter efficiency

Anyone have opinions about running an oil filter for two oil change intervals? I’ve seen information that states oil filters get more efficient as they get dirtier. It makes sense but I have never done it. I guess an oil analysis would be the best proof. Anyway, food for thought. I’d love to get...

Oil filter opinions PF63 vs M1-113A

Any thoughts on which filter is a better choice? I’ve see a lot of talk about oil pressure so I definitely don’t want to get a filter that would impact it negatively on the 5.3. Thanks for any knowledge or feedback. Cheers- Jamey

Newb Advice needed: Going to pick up auction PPV [Picked up!]

Gotcha. This shop is a transmission shop specifically. The tech I spoke to immediately named the trans as the 6L80 and said they don’t stray from the OEM spec or fluid brand at all. I have full confidence in them based on my conversation with him.

Thanks Marky! I contacted a local shop here and they confirmed they use the OEM fluids on the 6L80.
