I’d say I’m a good mix of mileage usually but do a bit of highway mileage and will take the rig on some camping trips throughout the year.
Have def been considering a tune can you remind me the two popular ones on here if you know I can find them too- thanks for the info!
I refreshed the front end on my 2001 Yukon and went from 2021 Silverado 18’s to 2022 Silverado LTZ 20’s with 33’s on them.
I intended to do upper control arms, lower control arms inner and outer tie rods, pitman arm, and idler/bracket but upon further inspection inner and outer were fine looked...
I did the Bilstien 4600’s and moog springs not the HD springs. One of my nivomats was leaking.
It feels good overall rear end feels planted and handles well. There’s a little bouncyness if you swing steering wheel back and fourth but body stays fairly flat through turns at speed. I’ve gotta...
I got my secondary air monitor to pass! It ended up being the check valves were clogged! I ended up just throwing the parts at it because I suspected they were I knew my pump was working and blowing strong because I ordered a new one and it blew less air!
Valves are ~$25 each on Amazon or...
Dove into the link theres a lot of information in there! Did the I/M AIR System Set Procedure and still would not complete test, and dosnt throw a damn code!? in the past its thrown the p0410 but its so random and could be after 10k + miles and operation..
One bit in there says: If the...
Update: Like I mentioned I had taken it to a buddy’s shop everything checked out (no blow back at valves) finally caved took it to GM dealer had the oldest tech work on it, he said Air pump was not reading at times or something like that wanted to replace it for $800 I declined and threw a new...
Always just shy of 210 other than when I was in 100 deg weather going up steep grades in Nevada/utah.
In my OBD 2 I do notice iratic swings on o2 sensor 1 60/70 down to 20 and below?
Also ill mention I did just get a p0410 light a few night ago and it did show secondary air system check complete at the time but then had mil light on.. cleared and it ran through all the other Tests within an hour of normal driving except secondary air of course... Thanks for your help so far...
Ok ran it without little vacume hose before i saw your reply and very little flow was coming through valve from pump, attached small vacume line from engine to valve and it flowed much better. Would that confirm that my solinoid is functioning to allow vacume from small line? Will try running it...
I’ve got my check valve out that’s after the pump, could it be stuck closed? When I blow into it from pump inlet it does not blow through how does this thing open? I can press it up from bottom and create flow- got it opened up just a spring and orange gasket.. def has a little debri around...
My smog guy did mention something about getting something erased or cleared... I didnt follow up at the time I should have, so im under the assumption that there is a backdoor to getting secondary air pump completion through to pass smog without it actually.. gosh damnit this is turning into a...
The pump is in fact blowing strong! What’s the little distributer after the pump could that be clogged/malfunctioning? And or off of that there is a little hose that goes to a wiring harness?
Trying to smog my 2001 yukon out here in Ca. Secondary air system wont complete its check on computer. Theres no check engine light on, ive tried the cold start with everything running till warmed up, ive preformed two drive cycles. Took it to my buddys shop he said everything is as it should be...
Great find and welcome to the club! Shes a beaut and 4WD nice!
In searching for mine back in 21' I really wanted 4WD but had to settle for 2, it was the best driving one out of the handful I tested and came in at $3500 OTD from a little lot out here in CA. with 112k miles I had to jump on it...
I recently put a new hose on my secondary vac air system (original was corroded and missing in places not passing smog) and my truck has changed in throttle response pretty well, WOT it moves out and doesn’t do that wrong gear feel anymore.
Can any mechanics second that making sure the...
I ended up going with power stop, after reading a little more in the forums and on Reddit plenty of people with success and little complaints with them.
Went with the Powerstop SC2015 kit, semi coated rotors from rock auto.
My only issue with the power stop kit so far is while installing the...
I need to do brakes all the way around, if it were my choice I’d go OEM AC Delco but it doesn’t look like they’re really making them anymore or possibly a new supplier in china? Which is fine if they’re up to spec only saw them on amazon briefly.
I’m leaning towards Wagner or raybestos. Anyone...
What size tires do you have on your rig? I have the same rims currently but looking to upgrade to some 20” off a 2020+ Silverado with 33’s. I just did the 4600 shocks all around. You think stock GM 20”s with 33” tires will work with the key you recommended?
Swapped out the shocks and springs on my 2001 Slt 5.3 with nivomats. Went with the Bilstien 4600 and Moog 81071 rear springs. Driver side F/R were leaking.
Ride is definitely smoother, truck stays flatter through the turns and overall handles a ton better. More responsive. Haven’t had a load...
I have a 2001 Yukon with the nivomats, suspension needs a refresh. I just want to level the rear really 2-3” drop. Looking at the beltech
2000-2006 CHEVY & GMC SUV 2-3" REAR LOWERING COIL KIT - BELLTECH 34324
That comes with the shock extenders, I was thinking of grabbing the Bilstien 4600’s...
