I did some digging and found out the CECU is the electronic control module. Evidently mine has gone bad. Strange part is that there was no alpha numeric code showing , just CECU. I guess I will do some searches on the ECM to see how to change the unit out.
My speedometer is acting a little crazy. The needle is not dropping to 0 when car is at idle. The needle drops to about 40MPH mark and as you accelerate the the additional speed is added to 40. Example you start truck and accelerate approximately 10mph and the speedometer shows 50mph.

I have 2004 Yukon that has the following issues:
-HVAC System sometimes does not work at all. I cut off HVAC completely then hit auto button and unit normally works fine then.
-Seat control on driver side. Sometimes when I use FOB or control on side of seat to move seat forward or...
Getting ready to service my rear diff on my wife's 2004 Yukon. I have read as many of the posts on here that I can find and I have a few questions.
Noticed that some of you guys have mentioned using magnets to check for metal debris in oil. Does the factory install a magnet in the...
Went by Advance Auto and they have a sale going on Sylvania headlights. I figured I would go with Halogen replacements, but sales person suggested I go with Sylvania HID Xenon. Pretty good deal on bulbs, but still concerned with blinding oncoming drivers. Am I being too cautious based on GZES...
Which headlight is so bright that it tends to blind oncoming drivers? I do not want to go that route, but do not mind spending some extra cash to upgrade.
2004 Yukon. Drivers front headlight bit the dust. Before I go buy a repalcement lamp thought I would get some input from you guys.
Replacement suggestions appreciated. Also should I go a head and change out
both headlights?
What is the best/easiest way to see if speaker is grounding out? Would the speaker that is possibly grounding out produce any sound, or would that speaker be dead even if other speakers/radio is working???
I have a 2004 Yukon. One of the Fob's used to remotely open/lock doors seems to be getting weak. Can you buy a new battery for these things are do I have to spring for new one?
I have a 2004 Yukon and have been experiencing periodic loss of sound. The radio will be working find and you shut off the ignition for a short while and when you power truck back up there is no sound. This happens about 25% of the time when you turn off the ignition switch. You never lose...
Have an update to my problem. Wife drove Yukon today and now HVAC is not cooling or heating. Does that mean I have a bigger problem than just blend door actuators??
NO AC or Heat
I have a 2004 Yukon and I am having problem with regulating temp either in heat or ac mode. We have two HVAC dials on front dash that let you regulate temps separately for driver and passenger side. For about a week now it has been very difficult to regulate temp in vehicle. You...
I did some checking and found a few companies, but not real sure if this is the way to go. One of the companies was quoting $595/year for 5yr 100K warranty.
Costs does not seem excessive for coverage, but was wondering if other posters have any experience going the extended warranty route...
My wife loves her 2004 Yukon so I guess we will be driving it for a while longer. The truck has about 105K miles on it and we have been contemplating whether or not to buy an extended warranty. I generally do not buy extended warranties, but thought I would ask you guys for your input. Any...
One of the bulb holders on rear bumper of my 2004 Yukon bit the dust a few days ago. Went to the GMC dealer and they wanted $40 for replacement part. Anyone found a cheaper source for this part? If it cost a buck to make this piece of plastic it would surprise me. The holder is black with clear...
I replaced my battery about a year ago and that seems to be when issued started. I took Yukon to dealer and had control module re-flashed to no avail.
I think I am going to pull fuse to radio and see if that makes a difference.
Also, a couple of days ago I stopped truck and cut off...
The radio is a factory unit. My wife shared another symptom with losing audio.
This may just be a coincidence, but she swears that after making a hard turn when she gets back in and starts the Yukon she has no audio. The control lights and volume control are lit, just no audio. I am wondering...
Sorry, I am so late in replying. Been out of commission for a while.
It does not stop while truck is running, but if you stop and kill the motor when you get back in sometimes there is no sound.
I have a 2004 Yukon and the radio seems like it has a mind of its own. You may get in the truck and radio comes on fine. You drive 20 minutes down the road & get out & cut power to truck. When you get back in truck radio may or may not come back on. This sequence is happening about 20% of the...
Thanks for input guys. This was my first post on here since finding the site. I went to Auto Zone & Advance Auto and they were asking $50+ for Bosch & over $100 for OEM. I need to verify the part number for the wires on my truck, but I think I am going to order them off ebay. I can not beat...
Sometimes the radio will not work when you crank the vehicle, and sometimes it works perfectly fine. I took the Yukon 2004 to the dealer and they supposedly re-flashed the control module, but I still have the issue on an intermittent basis. Any words of wisdom would definitely be appreciated...
Getting ready to change SP wires and was wondering if I should stay with
AC Delco OEM or switch to Bosch. Bosch wires are half the price, but thought I
would ask to see if I need to stay with the OEM wires.
I have a 2004 5.3 Yukon with 100K miles.
