What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

replaced the U joints yesterday on my 07 with 220k miles. No more vibrations at highway speed. Love it when things get fixed. Pulling apart the valley cover today because it’s leaking oil. The bolts didn’t even have resistance when coming out I guess that’s why. Trying to figure out how to...

    VLOM Gasket

Curious if anyone has an idea on how to change the gasket on the VLOM with rivets. Pulled this guy apart because it was leaking oil down the back. New gasket from FEL-PRO MS 96871 looks like the right fit but how do I get it on . 07 Yukon xl with 220k miles.

07-14 Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban Seat Gear Replacement

I have the same problem, but with the gears that work the forward/backward track on the console side screw. I see that Gruven parts are only for the height adjustment, not the forward/backward. Are there parts for the forward/backward screws that anyone knows about?

2007 Yukon xl driver seat binding up

Hmmm ok. I thought maybe it just got out of alignment and that is why it was binding. However, it looks like the console side screw isn’t turning. Would anyone know why this is the case? Drive side door turns just fine. Console side either won’t or will very slowly if I give it a little push...

2007 Yukon xl driver seat binding up

Oh I think I figured it out? I was able to fit a 6mm and grab the slide and rotate this until it matched the other side.

2007 Yukon xl driver seat binding up

I have a driver seat of mine that was binding up when going forward and backward. After some research it seemed that the rails are out of alignment. I pulled the seat up and reseat the furthest bolts and now the side next to the door is way off. How can I adjust this?

    Broken Valve cover bolt

And we are in! Tightened to snug and 1/8th turn more. I don’t dare tighten them further and I don’t trust my torque wrench anymore (grabbing a new one this weekend).

    Broken Valve cover bolt

Great question, I had checked the hole when I took the cover off, and it looked clear. My theory is the same as yours that it just missed the hole. It wasn't spinning loose entirely, I could feel resistance, but it gave way when I was tightening it, which made me believe I stripped it.

    Broken Valve cover bolt

Ok here is what I’ve done so far. I pulled it apart and chose a different bolt from a different hole. I hand tightened then turned not even a quarter turn to snug. It’s not loose at all. I ran a chaser through the hole just to check and there was no resistance. I then put back the original...

    Broken Valve cover bolt

So you don’t think I should chase it? Just pickup a new bolt and try it?

    Broken Valve cover bolt

Nope, it was in/lbs. I was using my small torque wrench that only does in/lbs.

    Broken Valve cover bolt

Welp, a two hour job just got longer. I noticed my valve covers were leaking oil on the 202k 07 Yukon. Figured I would replace them. Got everything in and good but the last bolt feels like it snapped on me.. I was using the torque wrench too.. Video below of what it looks like now. I think...

Can't find the source of this whining sound

Hey, there is a new sound my Yukon makes when it starts on cold days. It makes this whining sound when it starts and at times I can hear it around the 2k RPM mark when it's really cold and I am driving. I have checked the pullys but neither seem to emit the whine when I place something like a...

Stabilitrak and Traction control lights issues

Does auto zone or similar have the scanner capable of grabbing those codes? Last I checked the scanners themselves can range $400-$700.

Purchased a 2007 Yukon XL, now to make it reliable!

Hey all, Apologies for the late update. It's been a crazy few last couple off weeks. We recently just had a new baby that has been keeping me pretty busy. I still have a few things to take a look at, like the blower motor and track down the weird buzzing sound from the speaks when I use the...

Stabilitrak and Traction control lights issues

Hey everyone. I have a 2007 that is throwing the Stabilitrak and Traction control light and saying they are disabled. This has started to come up AFTER the truck was recently aligned. I can't tell if the alignment is tripping these sensors or not, but it only seems to disable the ABS and...

    Will a stock 2007 xl fit 285/75r16s

I am looking for an upgrade in wheels and found some that are coming off a 2003 suburban that are 285/75r16, will those fit well on my stock 2007 XL? I currently have 275/55/r20s on here and am looking to increase side wall for the bumpy forest service roads and comfort. Thanks!
