99 Yukon - Accidentally touched positive to negative

That's kind of hard to read and follow which is maybe why there haven't been any replies. Have you checked any and all related fuses?

    Whelp, Cruise IS working

You may or may not recall that one of the things I mentioned early on, three years ago when I got this beast, was that the cruise control was not working. At least the dash indicator light was not coming on. I can't swear to it now, but I'm pretty sure I had tried to engage it with no...

How do I KNOW what drive mode I'm in?

Futzing around with it makes it look like another connector issue. Sometimes the lights come on, but not always. Ran a fine file over each pin and some contact cleaner and it seems to be better. Pushing a button .. it blinks a few times as expected before staying steady, but I'm still not...

    Ongoing Blower issues

Pulled the cowling again, disconnected and reconnected everything ... working ... for now. But ... a new ... old issue. See the other thread.

How do I KNOW what drive mode I'm in?

Well, it's out again. Back then, I found a replacement and installed it, so it was all working fine. Even switched to 4W Low once when I needed it. Today after messing with the dash again for the blower issue, I noticed these lights weren't on. Pulled each connector and reseated them...

    Ongoing Blower issues

Been working fine up to and including this morning. All speeds, smooth changes. By time I got home ... no blower at all at any speed. I haven't had time to check for power at the motor itself, but will try that in the morning if is isn't raining too hard.

    ABS Controller?

Found a pair of sensors for about $20. Shop replaced both for $40/wheel. Reset/cleared the codes also. Drove it quite a bit today, lots of stops, no light.

    Ongoing Blower issues

While I had this out for the radio/clock issue, I pulled that pin and 'adjusted' it. The wire is slightly discolored for a half inch or so, but doesn't appear to be degraded enough to warrant cutting and splicing. Quick test with stuff still hanging got the blower working. We'll see.

Seeking wiring diagram for CD player.

Disregard ... that whole connector is dead. It feeds from the factory radio which isn't there at all, replaced by a digital aftermarket unit. There is no power to it, no connections at all without the factory radio. One plug to the radio, the other to the CD unit. Wild goose chase here, but...

Seeking wiring diagram for CD player.

Wiring/photo is in reverse order from the diagram, but seems correct except for the last one. They call PNK, but mine is light blue. Edit, just trying to put a small digital clock in if anybody cares.

Seeking wiring diagram for CD player.

This is the connector I have: Only the top row of that is populated. Bottom row is empty. Based on the diagram, I should have 12 constant power across the black and orange which I don't seem to have on a VOM with test leads inserted to the sockets.

Not sure what you were looking for, but those clips are easy to find replacements for and the back of the panel can be fixed with various adhesives.

Have you ever (tried to) replaced a brake light switch??

Clip's on. Tried several times yesterday and kept dropping it. Almost lost it a couple times when it fell into places where I couldn't really see it or get to it. Gave up. Decided to glue it to the end of a piece of stiff wire I could use to position it over the rod. Bent another piece of...

Have you ever (tried to) replaced a brake light switch??

Well, the switch itself is replaced. Need to get my brains back before I tackle the retaining clip. Not like any clip I've ever seen. The collar closes around the shaft andn there are spring tabs that push it away from the switch and against a shoulder on the shaft. Hard to explain. You...

Have you ever (tried to) replaced a brake light switch??

I have the new switch. I have not tried to get to the old one yet due to weather ( and a very sore back ). Holding it in my hand, I simply do not understand how it works. I see the leaf lever and the switch button and I know how leaf switches typically work. But this one is inside where the...
