    Best hose clamps to get.

Safety wire. I had similar happenings on my kawasaki concours....leaked coolant just 2 years after replacing all the rubber and the clamps. I bought SS clamps, and because there was no corrosion to help "lock it in" they back out. If you get some safety wire, you can secure the worm screw with it.

Hard 3-4 shift with higher revs after misfire stuff last week

Hey all, I had some misfire issues last week that were easily resolved with a new set of spark plug wires. During that process, when I was getting CEL codes, I noticed that the 3-4 shift was pretty harsh. All that has been resolved, no more codes. I towed for about 250-300 miles last weekend...

Brief exhaust smoke smoke in morning when starting engine

Yeah whoever at Chevy set the oil life meter timing/mileage got a fat promotion. 'hey guys... Hur Hur Hur...... Lets make them get a new motor at 100k by following our suggested maintenance!' I usually go 50% of the oil life meter.

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Yeah I agree... I'm just so surprised, I seriously thought that the Duralast gold was a decent brand. I never really bought them too much, not sure why I got these wires from them but nonetheless here we are. I do have a slight hesitation on WOT but there were definitely no misfires according to...

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Yep new plug wires fixed it up....weird timing, but glad it was an easy fix.

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Got a set of ngks to pick up tomorrow morning. Definitely looks like a good likelihood that the wire is the culprit. That questionable wire that was on 6, is on 2 now and no other cylinders are reporting misfires.

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Correct and they fucked up a bunch of stuff in the process. I was thinking they have broken in all the rigamarow of all the yeahoos including myself monkeying with em.

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

I Want to say they are the duralast gold ones....been a minute since I got them. The MAF is brand new factory delco from a different debacle that I created after the truck came back from a trans rebuild.

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Well the code changed from p0306 to p0300 when I moved the plug wire up from 6 to 2........to me, it doesnt seem that the wires should be bad this soon after installing them, but changing the criteria did change the resulting code. Why it didnt give me a p0302, I dont know, but I'm still...

Let's talk about a misfire [code]

Ok, so my truck was at the mechanic (trusted) for the replacement of the front diff. As usual, I told him to look around and make things right that he felt might not be. Because of some not-so-great work done somewhat recently at a local muffler joint, nothing would surprise me. Front diff...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

P0306 and a new coil didn't help it any. Goes and hard shifts too.. But sometimes clears itself

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Le sigh. Now I have a misfire. fml. Actually, its somewhat of a good thing. This MIGHT have been a long standing issue with my truck and an odd, non linear power curve. It would get up to 3k just fine...then kinda stumble, and then kinda sorta pickup again after 3700...it felt like a minor...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Still nothing saying I wont, but I cant sell it with a hosed front diff.....I looked back, I've put 10k on it since April, so I'm going to drive it into the ground I think,

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Got the burb back from the mechanic. Installed junkyard diff with a warranty, and it doesnt seem like it drives on rumble strips anymore. Just had a drive home, so need to put more miles on it to get a full feel of it.

Ride quality, what does a bad front diff feel like?

Well, those pressures are SPEC for the vehicle. I am not running max, I am running what the manufacturer tells me to run. So, sure 35 might be more pleasant, but that is not what it was built for. I will get abnormal wear, and I will get TPMS errors because thats not what it wants to run. As...

    What is this connector/wire?

I put a block heater in my v6 2002 explorer some years ago. Stop laughing. It goes under the topic of "why not?" If I can just run an extension cord out and leave it on until I use the thing, and it starts easier and warms up faster, then sure its worth the 20 bucks I paid for it. Yeah it was a...

    Towing temp going up

Yeah I know...when I roll heavy I have a tablet attached to the windshield connected via torque pro to give me vital stats. Lovely to have, wish it was all built in.

Ride quality, what does a bad front diff feel like?

Again all my front suspension is brand new. UBJs, LBJs, control arms, sway bar links, sway bar bushings, hub bearing assemblies, and my tires are milestar patagonias 245/75/16 which is factory spec.

Ride quality, what does a bad front diff feel like?

Shocks are bilstein 4600s....newish (like a year old). Tires are new (few months old), and the truck has been balanced and aligned various times recently. I had my rotors and brakes off a couple of weeks ago to install new front bearings. They looked even and straight. I dont have any pulse in...

High Mileage Invest Money Or Not?

That's a tough call. I've been pondering over big expenditures myself. A lot of the guys here will talk about payments, and blah blah blah its cheaper to spend more now than have a payment. But at the end of the day you still have a 10+ year old car. While the parts you just fixed are going to...
