so we went to fill it up again on saturday and same problem with the pump clicking off.
learn from my mistake and dont think you can just disconnect a few lines while the tank is lowered without disconnecting everything. just take it all the way out the first time and clean the hoses.
wife...
Tighten gas cap messages and issues filling it up. Would click off the pump at like .8 gallon as if it was full. Tank vent line was clogged with charcoal pellets from the canister
some of the reading ive done has suggested that the earlier trucks 00-05 tune has the power enrichment not ever coming in and that MOST of the gains you get are from enabling it. if i recall they have it set to something like you have to be at WOT for 200 seconds before it goes to PE mode. i...
just a note, the stock airbox in these trucks with a high flow filter produces more power than any of the conical filters in the engine bay. hot air = less dense = less power. cooler air (even if only 10 degrees cooler) will produce more power. for these trucks the best setup is the stock airbox...
did the evap solenoid, charcoal canister and ended up having to lower the tank and blow out the vent lines. but after doing that it seems to be working properly again.
Yea it wasn't bad. Just lowered it enough to get to the connections since it was a bit over half full. After the canister went on and didn't fix I lowered it. the canister was spilling the pellets everywhere so i figured it was probably booty in the lines too.
Blew them out with air and massive...
ugh i hope i dont have to drop the tank. i replaced the solenoid/valve already and have a charcoal canister coming in saturday that im going to replace. truck will be ready for a fill up after that so ill try it. if it doesnt fill up im gunna take it home and drop the damn tank lol.
i havent seen the 4wd trucks, is the rear driveshaft bolted on and the slip yoke in the middle or does it have a slip yoke that goes into the tcase?
if its bolted in id see if taking the rear driveshaft out and putting it in 4hi still makes the noise.
that looks great! that was my second choice for coating it only because i had the dip onhand. i wanted to get it on and going and i had a can of plastidip laying around so i went for it.seeing the bedliner though, im definitely doing that
same here. i had a oscillation noise at highway speeds but the bearing seemed to test ok with traditional tests. once i said screw it and ordered one i pulled it off and could feel how clunky the bearing was. replaced it and noise gone.
So i been going back and forth on this for a long time and ive seen the posts about the intake tube + factory airbox being the best setup. I couldnt quite swallow the pill of the airraid tube being the best option at 160 dollars for just a tube. im sure im not the first person to do it but i...
replaced the fog light housings and put some LED bulbs in it. i ran over a hand truck a few months back in it and busted the drivers side glass/bulb so i ordered some new ones and slapped em in.
old on the left, new on the right
wife loved the look which is good cause its her daily :D
the couplers are kind of chintsy but at 70 dollars on amazon its hard to beat. i bought it and only used the tube with teh stock airbox since i already had a high flow filter in there. adds a nice throaty sound to the intake.
we paid just under 2k for the trans reman from GM last year for my wifes GTO. not the 4wd unit, but still a 4l65e with the 3 year 36k mile parts AND labor warranty. cant beat it.
Anyone have the part numbers for the trim that runs vertically on the left and right sides of the windsheild? my truck hasnt had it since i bought it and i i get some wind noise at highway speeds that im guessing is from missing that piece since it basically blows right into the already loose...
man my experience with the 4l6xe model transmissions is once they start going, its time for replacement. getting one from GM isnt that expensive either. i was able to get one for around 1900 after the core charge was given back. 3 year 36k mile PARTS AND LABOR warranty. that warranty was what...
those changes are internal to the transmission and do not effect its interchangeability. i spend the better part of 2 years dealing with issues with my wifes 04 GTO that came with a 4l60e and did plenty of research. the 65 got the 5 planetary rear gearset and a stronger shell and slightly better...
