    Updates for Tech2?

I have a GM Tech2 that I got from an old job. They were doing scan tool benchmarking and no longer needed it. Win for me, downside is it only will work up to 07 vehicles. Does anyone know of a way/place to get these updated?

    Thin gray line tahoe build

Here's how to identify if they are Castech heads. Someone commented in another forum that there were multiple suppliers of the 706 heads, not sure if that's true or not. But this TSB should answer any question about it...

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

It ended up being the alternator. It took forever to get the replacement one, since right after I ordered it, we got slammed with bad weather. Put the new one on, and good to go. It wouldn't have been the stepper motor since this was effecting my charging system. You could see the headlights dim.

    Mine is 2001. What's RVC?

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

I wondered that too. I ordered one, just wondered if anyone else had come across something similar, in case there was something else to look at. I'd like to limit my time working outside since it's winter and my Camaro is taking up the garage lol.

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

I just ordered the replacement one (Rockauto). I did the upgrade months ago, this issue just started a couple weeks ago (I was gone all last week, didn't drive it). I double checked every wire I replaced to make sure none of the connections were coming loose, all are tight and crimped on the...

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

Just checked, yes it is an AC Delco gold reman alternator.

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

AC Delco alternator, if I remember right it was a reman. It was tested twice and both times passed on their bench tester. I thought it would be that too since it seems to be more load dependent.

    Volt Gauge Bouncing

I've had an intermittent issue recently with my volt gauge bouncing around/twitching. It seems to happen more under load, but will still move a bit at idle/light throttle at times. I replaced the belt tensioner since it was sticking a bit, and had the 1 year old alternator tested a couple...

    5.3 vs 6.0 Vortec?

You have an LQ4 (9.4:1 compression) in your Denali, not an LQ9 (10:1 compression) that came in the Escalade. Yours takes 87 octane. The LQ9 was higher.

    tuner for electric fans

If that's all you're doing, you can do a mail order tune from a few different places as well. Just giving another option. Blackbear is the preferred one on this site, but plenty of others out there too.

    Thin gray line tahoe build

You should try a different code reader. If the check engine light is on, there are active codes. If you can't get a different reader, go to Autozone or similar and have codes read for you.

    05 gmc yukon xl slt

Do you have access to a scan tool that can read data? You need to look at some actual data to find out what's going on, such as: Is your misfire all over the place, or does it stay at certain cylinders? What are your fuel trims showing? If you don't have access to one, you may have to have a...

    05 gmc yukon xl slt

Based on having a P0300, mult/random misfire, a P0171 - system lean bank 1 and a whole shit load of O2 sensor codes, im going to throw out a guess you have a nasty misfire causing everything. Do you have access to a scan tool to read data? You're going to want to see misfire monitors, fuel...

    Cab Swap

Nope, I should have said powertrain lol. Engine, trans, axles, the whole shebang. He said everything was built, so he'd want it all to go.

    Cab Swap

I think you'd be better off swapping the driveline into the rust free vehicle. You could swap the carpet/door panels and any manual seats, but any power seats would have to be sourced from an 03-06 vehicle. You'd also have to use the 03-06 wiring when you swap the engine, so another tune on...

AWD was only available on Denalis and Escalades. To know quickly, if you have the 4WD switch on the left side of the cluster, you do not have AWD. Tell us which codes you have and we can help. If you're hauling a heavy trailer you really should be using a weight distribution hitch. Lots of...

    Another P0300 Thread

The code still hasn't come back since I did the relearn. That was definitely the issue for me.

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

No overlay, all stock Denali. Maybe a difference in color for the gauge from 01 to 02? Not a big deal for me, I was just curious. Anyway, I loved reading through this thread, you have a hell of a vehicle!!!

Rocket Man's 02 Denali Build Thread AKA "THE BEAST"

I put white LEDs in my 01 cluster and it looks blue. Did you do anything else or just put in LEDs?

    Big 3 upgrade?

I just did the big 3 on mine. I'd say get 7ft of ground wire and 3 ft of power, just to be safe and depending on where you are running your grounds to. I used 1/0 OFC and it was a big difference with windows, turn signals, etc. My volt gauge doesn't move anymore at all.

05 Tahoe and 03 Yukon swap

To answer your question, yes you can pull them both still connected. Though, if I'm pulling out the top, I always separate because it's just easier. Some will leave them together though. I just prefer separating to make things easier to maneuver and remove. I'd agree though, make sure your...

2001 Burban, almost no oil pressure even after replacing the oil pump

You may also look into the pick up tube girdle. It keeps the pick up tube from moving in the oil pump by bolting down the other side of the tube. If it's not that though, I think you're looking at major work here. My first thought after reading was also bearing have gone bad. That much...

    ABS Light With No Codes

I'm curious to know how you think the ABS light can be turned on by an O2 code? Doesn't sound right to me. Yes, I'd still get the O2 fixed, but they're mutually exclusive systems. A sensor monitoring the exhaust gasses is not going to make an anti-lock brake light come on. What OP is...
