    Those things open up easily. I've found most of the time you can fix them by bending the contacts. Fixed about a half dozen of them that way.

    It doesn't rely solely on air bags though. The shocks have air bags and it has normal springs.

    Ok, so my original question was, do I need to bolt in an outer CV joint end or not, and it appears that the answer is yes. So, I will do that.

    The inner axle bolts to a flange that is secured inside the front differential. And my initial question was, can I or can I not? If I cannot, I can simply find an outer joint and install it in the hub and torque the nut. That's really all I wanted to know.
