Driver side motor mount - how much movement is too much

The one on the back of the drivers side cyl head to the firewall is known to make trucks act funky when defective.

Driver side motor mount - how much movement is too much

To me the symptoms point to a bad ground somewhere. Have you done resistance testing on the ground locations? Verified the battery cables are good?

Possible head gasket leak after overheat

Fix any and all coolant leaks and then monitor the reservoir to see if your losing coolant. If your not losing anything then your good.If your head gasket is blown you will have white smoke out the tailpipe and you'll smell it. Also you'll have some misfires due to coolant in the combustion chamber.

AFM... to retain or to delete?

Next time skip AI and come here first! If you're keeping the truck long term then physically get the AFM deleted. It's a job that can be DIY'd in your driveway.

    2014 Tahoe Texas Edition

If it's clean with no rust I would say you might be able to get 5 grand from the right person who knows how to work on these trucks. Otherwise most people will consider it an 11yr old truck with a blown motor which attracts low ball offers around 2 grand or even less...

    Electrical components life span?

With the quality of today's new parts I wouldn't replace much unless its broken.

Just bought a 2012 Z-something Tahoe and may have lied to by dealer? An engine idle thimg.

If the motor mounts are original can't hurt to replace them. That might smooth it out a bit.

What is it with these F*KNG valve covers and fill tubes!!??

I tried for over an hour and it wouldn't lock! Contemplated removing the valve cover but had to get the hoses installed so held off. I was going to order a new tube and then stumbled upon this thread so I'm probably just going to put the cap right on the cover. This is on the 08 Yukon and has...

Its definitely a high end product. If I was keeping the truck forever I might have thought about it. I'm going to go oem tee's and hoses and replace them in another 100,000 ifmI still have it.

Should I get the metal Doorman tees or go OEM? I'm leaning OEM. It's the 08 Yukon.

    Cursed Intake Manifold Bolts?

I'd have to disagree. I broke a manifold bolt in the past and used a valve cover bolt minus the grommet as a replacement. Besides the grommet the bolts are identical. The bolt is still in place.

    Cursed Intake Manifold Bolts?

The bolts with the grommets on them are actually valve cover bolts. Take the grommets off and its the same as manifold bolts.

Crazy sounds when making sharp turns

Gotcha. I was wondering if maybe it was in auto and trying to engage but the gears just clanking around. I tried my 4wd 2 years ago and it made that same sound, I put it back in 2H and haven't moved it since. I also think its a metal on metal sound. Three different shops firing the parts cannon...

Crazy sounds when making sharp turns

It sounds like the front differential. What setting do you have the 4wd in? Is the little orange light illuminated on the switch? I keep mine in 2H all the time.

2007 Tahoe Sporadic Parasitic Battery Drain

Only way you're going to find the draw will be to troubleshoot when its happening. Hook up an amp meter between the battery negative post and the clamp and when the draw is happening start pulling fuses until it goes away...

So the new brackets don't have any threads in the holes..Im assuming the new bolts 11570934 make their own on the way in. GM calls the bolts "hexagon flange head tapping" bolts. Just wanted to check on here for verification.
