    Died at 70mph on I-75

QX 80 would be my second choice if I can’t find a GM. You can get lucky, by searching the good rental companies that sell their 1 - year old rentals. ( Ask them for a “one-driver- company-lease” )….. They sell the rentals for a low price….. Rental companies don’t “own” the cars & trucks…...

What should the Rear Sway Bar height be set at?

As per Hellwig’s installation, the rear bar should be level with the frame rail. Hellwig’s rear bar has a ‘firmness’ option ( 3 holes )….. Just use the 1st firmest hole. The improvement of sway is SO MUCH BETTER….. like a new truck… Your stock GM swaybar is JUNK…. It is a hollow tube, and very...

    Track Day!

Cool…….. Trail braking……. You have to find the “feel”…. entering the turn. Like beginning a “drift”….. then gradually apply the brakes…. Feeling the 4 tires “scrubbing”…. ( scrubbing is sort of like braking with the tires a bit sideways)…. PUTTING ALL 4 TIRES PLANTING THE SAME “FOOTPRINT”...

’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

I have the very last module…. ( I spoke with the company… They said they had one left. ...I got lucky ).. The OnStar box is behind the glove box. All’s I had to do was unplug the OnStar box and plug in the BlueStar II. Plug -n—play. It uses the OnStar system, ( steering wheel buttons, Mirror...

    Track Day!

I get it……. My ’05 has hellwig sway bars, good shocks blueprinted steering box….. And due to my ‘old days’ working at a race driving school, the techniques of entering & exiting a turn ( weight transfer, etc)…. You can fool people why the 6,000 beast handles so well. ( It’s not the car…...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

At least, you have the time when available, to work on it since you have something else to drive. ( Is that a window wash sprayer under the headlight?? )

’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

Sometimes I get nervous about my ’05 Yukon XL…. 180,000 miles….. reading about member issues…. And the only issue was the rear main seal (fixed), and the steering box leak ( fixed with a blueprinted box ).. That’s it….. Rest of my cost is only up-dating or improvements ..like hellwig sway bars...

’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

The ‘Costar Technologies’ / " BlueStar II" company does not exist anymore. Back in the day, I was LUCKY to contact them… They sold me their last module. The module also uses the OnStar mirror buttons & LEDs . The system works so well, I forget to realize it isn’t a factory system. Anyone with...

’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

Thanks for enlightening me! I had no idea …. I just assumed the GMT800s .. in later years all had it. I never thought to ask. What’s nice is my steering wheel controls support it also.

’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

I’ll research your question……. I did replace my OnStar module with the ‘BlueStar II’ module….. All systems still operate, but without the monthly OnStar fees, and unable to contact OnStar ( which I didn't want to anyway) ... Maybe….. maybe…. The BlueStar II allows me to use the “OnStar...

Yup…. My Bose system…. all original and still works well. A quick internet search……. nearly all say the same suggestion : Make sure radio & phone has volume turned up…. Uh,….. DUH. !!!!! I can’t seem to find if my dash info has any adjustments for a Bluetooth use.

Most phone calls received, i have to close windows, and phone volume seems too low, even with Bose volume turned up to 11. Is there an adjustment for more volume?? Even with windows up, volume is too low ( I can hear, but struggling ) ( I’ll read through the owner’s manual, but sometimes that...

Yeti's Very Long and Slow NC Home Build

I’m replacing our roof tiles…. flat - concrete style…. They lay a “peel -n- stick” waterproof skin over the plywood. Then the concrete tiles are secured by an adhesive foam…. NO NAILS. I assume there is a process to seal an upper deck and lay the walking surface, without the dreaded nails. (...
