How much extra power can one make without unwanted wear?

I am asking why torque converter clutch slippage is relevant to AFM.

How much extra power can one make without unwanted wear?

Understood. That's good advice. I've got a good bit of experience with engine tuning, running from carbs/distributors, to Electromotive TECII, to Megasquirt, and I've got a Holley Stealth Terminator (HP ECU) sitting on the shelf for my '57 Chevy. I have no transmission ECU tuning experience...

Thanks, strutaeng! I definitely have the time to spend to do it right.

What Standard Is The USB Port in The Console? (i.e. 2.0, 3.0, ?)

Yep, it works fine for me. It finds all the folders with music and builds a playlist automatically. I've only tried MP3s; page 7-33 in the manual says: "Radios that have a USB port can play .mp3 and .wma files that are stored on a USB storage device as well as AAC files that are stored on an...

How much extra power can one make without unwanted wear?

What is the interplay that's going on here? I will be getting an HP Tuners MPVI3 soon and delve into adjusting things, but have to admit that learning everything is like drinking from a firehose, so I haven't run across this yet. Any suggestions on what to research WRT this?

What Standard Is The USB Port in The Console? (i.e. 2.0, 3.0, ?)

Well, look what I found on page 7-32 of the manual: "The USB connector... uses the USB 2.0 standard." You can play music from a USB device or iPod using the head unit.

What Standard Is The USB Port in The Console? (i.e. 2.0, 3.0, ?)

Well, I wanted to get my parts order done and out of the way, so I went with a 3.0-in & 2.0/3.0 out splitter. The difference in price is minimal. I'll put the stock port on the 3.0 side and just use the 2.0 for the device.

What Standard Is The USB Port in The Console? (i.e. 2.0, 3.0, ?)

Y'all, I will be installing a splitter at the junction in the center console to power a low-consumption (16 mA) device that does not have any data connection, but I want to ensure I don't degrade the data capability from the stock port in the console. So, what USB standard will the splitter...

Doing A Complete Replacement of All Hoses & Connectors: What Size & Length for Bleed Line?

Nope, this one is coming off the head and goes towards the radiator. It's not the hard line between the heads. Yep, that's it! I see now that it's a molded hose, not just a length of hose. Thanks!

Doing A Complete Replacement of All Hoses & Connectors: What Size & Length for Bleed Line?

Y'all, It looks as if each one of the hoses & connectors are original, given that all of them have one or both of these paint marks (and all the clamps are marked & lined up as well). I've got everything ready to order except for the 3/8"-ish hose that comes off the bleed fitting at the front...

Yakima HD Track Installation -- Any Experiences/Input?

Y'all, I've got a number of Yakima rack components I've used on different vehicles (Locking RailRider 1 towers on an AMC Eagle; 1A Raingutter towers on a '57 Chevy and an '86 BMW; crossbars, bike racks, load stops, etc.) and would like to install a pair of HD 72" tracks on my '13 Tahoe LTZ...

Cargo/Loading Ramps: Any DIY Designs or Suggested Brands/Models?

Y'all, I've done my due diligence, but haven't run across any cargo/loading ramp discussions on TYF, other than this one on a dog ramp. To be clear, I am not asking about maintenance ramps one would drive the truck onto, I'm asking about ramps to do things like getting yard equipment or whatnot...

Mod for making both tail light bulbs illuminate when brake is pressed

I'm going to be implementing this in my newly-acquired '13. It won't be via trailer modules, but via micro relays. I haven't delved into the wiring sufficiently to know how I'm going to approach it, whether plug-and-play harness (which requires obtaining appropriate connectors) or via tapping...

Just Picked Up This 2013 Tahoe LTZ

Thanks for the suggestions on immediate maintenance needs, folks. I'd already planned on all of the fluids (including brake, which many folks forget) and some of the suggested hard parts.

Just Picked Up This 2013 Tahoe LTZ

Hi Y'all, I was mainly on the lookout for PPVs, but when this came up for only a bit more than the PPVs I was running across, I checked it out and snapped it up. 183K, $9,750, from an Alfa Romeo dealer. The AFM is working fine, but will be turned off via tuning ASAP. Everything else is...

Removing 3rd row flooring, what to fill recesses with?

I'm late to the party, but a suggestion for anyone doing a future endeavor like this is to use "casting compound." It's not inexpensive, but will flow and form a level rubber surface, and you can get it in different stiffnesses. If you use a release agent beforehand, it'd be easily removable...

    Catch can flow discussion

That's certainly true for the overwhelming majority of street operation, but at high-load or full-throttle operation when there's the combination of low/no vacuum and increased blowby, crankcase vapor will flow out of that intake side. Whether it's worth it to install a catch can on that side...

Long-Time Gearhead, Short-Time TahoeYukon Lurker. On The Hunt.

Y'all, Due to some upcoming needs and the desire to have a daily driver with an automatic again, I'm on the hunt for an older Tahoe, most likely a GMT900. I generally prefer less-content-laden vehicles and only need 2WD, so I had mostly been looking at PPVs. However, since I will be doing...
