I wouldn't run additives just for gelling. The LM2 is a 36k psi injection system, any increase in lubricity you can get you should go with. The manual specifically calls for it.
If you want max tow or the diesel it's basically whatever the dealer wants to charge, I got lucky on mine and "only" paid MSRP for it. Max tow was one of the only options I just flat out could not get.
Dealer. Saving 50 bucks isn't worth a declined warranty claim and frankly I wouldn't trust a 500 dollar beater car to a quick lube place let alone a brand new vehicle that requires very specific oil.
I've been using ACDelco Cold Flow additive or ACDelco Diesel Fuel Conditioner when I can find it, I've only found one dealer in a ~200 mile radius that sells it. It's what the owners manual calls for.
Had my 22 SLT Duramax for about six weeks and ~3000 miles now, other than a weird check engine light for the ABS that appeared for no reason and went away on its own the same day the first week I had it, it's been trouble free. Been loving the mileage and the ride quality.
Styling, foglights, ~10k cheaper. I also prefer 20s to 22s.
If you don't care about adaptive cruise control or air suspension, which I don't, the HC isn't worth it imo.
As far as I can tell the app's oil percentage is for oil life not the amount of oil you have, but that's kinda odd it would tell you it's at 0% at 800 miles. Mine was at 67% at 2500 miles when I had the first oil change done.
I suspect the LZ0 will have more emissions problems than the LM2 in the long run, really I see nothing about the engine that makes it a real upgrade worth having if you already own an LM2.
So I've passed 1000 miles now without a regen, am I just not noticing it or do these vehicles not give notification of a regen? My previous vehicle was a 2008 F250 diesel and it regened constantly, have they just made the newer DPF systems that much better?
I just bought my 3.0L Yukon on Halloween, the dealer didn't say anything about a stop sale. Ran my VIN on GM's recall center and had no recalls. I'm not sure what it would be.
