I thought about this a lot before I bought my 5.3 Z71. You CAN run the 6.2 on 87 and the computer will adjust timing to protect the engine but it's not optimal to run at peak efficiency. I'm happy with the 5.3 and it moves me down the road just fine. I've got 38K on it already and for the life...
That looks really good. Couple of questions. How is the "rake" front to back. Hard to tell in the pic. Are those 275/65/20's? A question for the group: When you are upsizing, are you buying the upsized spare too? If so, does it fit under the truck?
I had a 2015 F150 Platinum prior to my 21 Z71 and I almost didn't by the Tahoe because of the seats. The Plat's seats were incredible and the Tahoe seats are hard and narrow by comparison. I typically spend 3hrs a day commuting and I'm 6' 250lb. I like everything else on the Tahoe so I...
Did you use any wheel spacers? I see on the RC site where all three customer examples used 2.25" Bora spacers. Is this critical? I'd rather my tires not stick out past the fenders if possible.
I've got a question on the display. When I'm running carplay and using Waze for instance, it is super bright and seemingly not in "night" mode. Night mode is activated on my phone but not on the screen. My wife's new Mazda CX-9's display will be dark and in "night" mode at night. I've poked...
Love it!! Seems like 35x11.5's are hard to come by. Where did you get them? Also, is that rear bumper and exhaust part of getting a 6.2 now on the Z71??
I coincidently bought my Z71 with 4k miles on it and had the exact same thing happen to my front (stock size) tires. I'm thinking the factory alignment was off. Got it aligned and haven't had an issue since.
Thanks for the clarification. I've never been a fan of the tires outside of the fenders look. I do however like the look of taller tires on stock wheels with a moderate lift. I'm quickly running through the life of the stock tires and when I have to buy new tires, I want a plan to get the...
No doubt about that especially after "trimming" and "cutting" lol. Now I'm doing over 30K miles a year and I'll be out of the bumper to bumper warranty by the end of this year. Another year for the powertrain so not as big a deal for me. I can wait a little. I'm going through tires quickly...
Fabtech got right back to me. I guess I'm going to have to wait to see if I can get more info on the set up I'm looking at in the pic. I don't want to be a guinea pig. I'm disappointed that they would post those pics without knowing the specifics of that customer vehicle. That's the exact...
I've been waiting on this too. The Tahoe they have pictured is the same color as my Z71 and I really like the look. I sent them an email to find out what size and brand wheels are pictured as well as tire size. In the info, they note that with 33" tires there will need to be "minor trimming"...
I commute roughly 110 miles round trip each work day when I'm not traveling out of town for work. I'm consistently sitting at 19.5 mpg on the 450 mile average on the DIC. 2021 Z71 5.3. I'm typically unloaded and mostly highway.
I put a ton of miles on my vehicles and I've never had a Tahoe before but everyone I know who has owned one has put a bunch of miles on them with little issue. As posted above, I wanted as few electronics and gizmos as possible as that is what ultimately failed in my previous F150 Platinum. My...
The cargo liners are an absolute joke. Shame on GM for selling these with the pathetic attachment method. They didn't even stay on one day. GM should recall these and provide a proper attachment method or give us part $ back. The front and 2nd row are fine.
I know exactly what you are going through. I've always had a pick up and bought my Z71 Tahoe in January and have had some regrets. However, I'm at the beach this week and was able to get 6 people and all of our gear here. Couldn't have done that in a pick up. Now's the time to sell!
