    Torsion bar madness HELLLP *RESOLVED*

Instead of suffering through changing the keys back to stock and hoping the 285’s fit; just save for/ ask the accountant for the true lift kit and coil overs. It’s a ton of work plus expense of two alignments. Should get alignment checked/ adjusted for any suspension/ steering work performed...

    Torsion bar madness HELLLP *RESOLVED*

That there is one of them budget leveling kits. My best guess is that maybe the CV angles are allowing the inner joint to come out and go back in. Which could cause the jumpiness.

04 tahoe - Any sway bars still available?

Um hate to disagree but that is the predecesor of the magna ride or whatever GM calls is now. Yet those vehicles equipped with it still have sway bars too.

    Torsion bar madness HELLLP *RESOLVED*

Pic of the spacer? If your second picture is NOT of the vehicle lifted with a jack or supported by jack stands then yes you are at max lift. See how the upper control arm is all but touching the frame piece below it. More than likely what you have is a leveling kit. A full on lift kit will...

04 tahoe - Any sway bars still available?

Not sure if you have checked them out but Summit Racing shows the Hellwig bars in stock. Quite spendy though.

    Exhaust question for 2500 owners

It was completely redesigned. Like the LS motors very little can be used from the previous gen motor.

    Exhaust question for 2500 owners

It kind of is an LS motor. The intake ports are cathedral port. If I’m not mistaken the crank and cam sensor outputs are the same as the LS, 24X and 1X respectively. Check out Raylar Engineering if he needs day dream material.

    Exhaust question for 2500 owners

That is what came in my 8.1 Burb. The inlets are necked down to under 3”OD. The exits are 3” OD. The tailpipe exit is 3” OD as well. The muffler is 25” long X 12” wide.

    Exhaust question for 2500 owners

I will dig the stuff from my 05 Burb out of the grass and get you pix and measurements later today.

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

I had my dealer order it. 85153957 is the part number. It’s to service 1 caliper so order 2. What have you done about the rear brakes? Mine need replaced and didn’t want it to look funny with the little rotor back there.

Engine Swap to stroked 6.0 (408) and general vehicle refurbishment

I am barely good enough to download a file and look at it. What were you using to monitor “Fan Desired”?

Engine Swap to stroked 6.0 (408) and general vehicle refurbishment

That is loud but it also sounds idled up. Does the RPM ever come down?

Engine Swap to stroked 6.0 (408) and general vehicle refurbishment

For the fans did you try turning on the AC? It might not be recommended for the initial break in but that should turn them on. First checks after that would be fuses, relays, did the fans get hooked back up? I’ve done it multiple times. Temp sensor installed and hooked up? One last possibility...

2021 Tahoe PPV massive oem brakes, 16"

Moar pix Dynamic friction part number for pads that fit the fancy red calipers, I think. They definitely do NOT fit the PPV Calipers. Comparison. Dynamic friction pad on top, PPV pad on bottom. The pad hardware for the dynamic friction branded brake pads doesn’t work on the PPV calipers...

Let’s see if this will work. Me and Imgur are not friends. 2021 PPV Caliper vs NBS caliper and bracket. Rotor. Dr Pepper can for comparison because TEXAS, son. Both calipers. https://i.imgur.com/KdWixlN.jpg Part number of correct brake pads. https://i.imgur.com/7rjXCSf.jpg Pads.

I think so. I heard one of my locals squeal when they stopped. I haven’t gotten mine put together to know more first hand.

    intercooler or trans cooler

I have seen some instances where guys moved the trans cooler to behind the “A” frame the original trans cooler mounted to. Made room for a bigger intercooler on the turbo trucks. Should work the same for the supercharger heat exchanger.

    NEED HELP!!

That thing is clean. I didn’t think I would like the look of a lifted Tahoe. But yours is nice. Bilstein’s website doesn’t show a shock for a 2” rear lift. Just 0-1 and 3”. 5100 series shocks 0-1 PN - 24-187237 3” PN - 24-185783 Hope that helps.

Rebuiding my front end - upgrades?

Those boots or whatever you call that accordion piece on the shocks are made long to accommodate the shock extending. Nothing to worry about as I think bilstein uses a 1 size fits all on them. Some things I did see though. The bump stop or jounce bumper is deteriorated and gone, wouldn’t make...

Rebuiding my front end - upgrades?

$1500 for three ball joints and a hub bearing seems a bit much to me. Then again I do all of my own work except alignments. Where does the clunk seem like it’s coming from? The intermediate steering shaft is a known issue that makes a clunk on all of my gmt800. If you have the torsion bar...
