Thanks for the write up. Glad someone tried this. I was about to attempt it but my truck was still under warranty so the dealer put in a new set of trim. We'll see how long this set lasts.
I recall there was some sort of stripping chemical that someone used on the FJ Cruiser forum to strip the...
Did the cable work for you as far as playing video from your iphone on the rear overhead screen? I bought a similar cable but can still only get video to play on the front screen. Am I doing something wrong?
Tomorrow I'll be getting LTX MS2's in the rear. I just have stock 18's (P265/65R18) on my Hybrid. Read lots of good reviews on them, especially regarding their long tread life backed up by a long warranty period. a lot of people loved the original MS' and the MS2's are supposed to be a...
Here (Car and Driver) it says a 2008 Hybrid (2wd/4wd) weighs 5650/5850 lbs:

"All the hybrid hardware adds weight—about 350 pounds in the Tahoe's case, GM says—which is not the...
This topic has still been sitting in the back of my mind. Still don't have an explanation but I came up with a new question as a result of trying to find an answer.
Which is heavier? The hybrid or the gas version of the Tahoe? I recall someone saying that the Hybrid is lighter but also once...
I'm hoping to do a similar test soon. Just need to find the time.
Jason, did you cut away some of the resonator piping that goes around that "fat pin" near the exhaust clamp? I could swear on my truck, the pin goes through a hole in the pipe that would keep me from slipping the resonator off.
With the GMX550 and BlueFusion back in, the radio again wouldn't turn on this morning. Hitting the Disc Eject button turned the radio on. So if others come across this glitch, try that button. This has now worked twice for me. I'll continue to test this out.

chris_26,
Do you have an XM tuner box behind your glovebox? Regardless, I'm glad everything fit. I'm amazed you got it all done in 15 minutes. Even if I knew all of the steps ahead of time, I don't think I could get it done that quickly.
I also thought maybe the fitment issue could be Hybrid...
IIRC, when you use the NAV in Motion feature it shuts off the tracking system. After entering your destination, turn off the NAV in Motion feature. Give that a try and give us an update. Good luck.
Can you be more specific? Your NAV doesn't work at all or only after you activate the DVD in Motion feature. If the latter, that is "normal".

I think the issue was that if you stick the BF box to the XM tuner like in Scosche's video, the glovebox cannot be closed. At least that was the case for me and someone else.
ckl5899,
You were right. I was able to stuff the GMX550 above and behind the XM tuner. I saw a grid like thing with foam back there. Hopefully it's nothing delicate that'll get damaged by having the box up against it. Sure is nice to have an empty glove compartment again.
bmwme,
I have not...
After about 4000 miles of driving, the last 3000 of which have been about 80-90% city driving, the running mpg average has slowly crept down to 18.9. Still not bad.
Very odd. Not sure if I experienced the same thing but as I was leaving my parking spot, I noticed that the truck would stutter a little when I initially depress the accelerator. By the time I left the parking lot, everything was back to normal. Very odd. A/C was on and the ambient temp was in...
I'll have to take another look. I looked back there when I installed my Blue fusion unit. It's box is very small and when I stuck it on the XM tuner, I could not close the glove box. I ended up sticking the Bluefusion to the right side on some metal...
Hey bmwme and ckl5899,
Can you guys post pics of your installs? I also found it impossible to stuff my GMX550 behind the stereo so I just ran everything into the glove compartment. The box and everything are literally in the glove compartment which essentially renders it useless. I have no idea...
ChevyFreak,
Thanks for the info. That helps a lot with my troubleshooting. It let's me know not to give up on BlueFusion just yet. Was getting ready to go with a Parrot system but I'm going to hold off for a little while longer.
Lockpick is a device that allows one to watch a movie on the head unit screen while the vehicle is moving and allows one to enter a destination into the NAV system while the vehicle is moving. There is also an Ipod option so that music and video can be played through the OEM system...
Not sure about the Gen6. I have the GMX550 and BlueFusion and was having some problems. The stereo would frequently not turn on. I then emailed Scosche and got the following email:
"The Scoshe BlueFusion is not compatible with the GMX550. We recommend Parrot universal handsfree bluetooth...
