For those in search of a 6.6 LML diesel K2XX gen Suburban.

I have no affiliation with this seller or vehicle just posting for those on the hunt for these rare rigs.

I’m so confused by this vehicle. It says it had a frame swap but what frame did they use? A GMT900 3/4 ton or a Silverado 3/4 ton frame?

Super cool tho!

The GMT900 3/4 ton frame will bolt right under that K2xx body with one body mount needing a slight repositioning. Same frame as we have under our K2xx Suburban 3500s as well.

I want it! That would be a keeper for sure. Only issue in our heat I would not want black on black. Too hot and hard to keep clean. Been there and done that already. Very nice truck though.

Yeah, probably a GMT900 2500 Suburban frame swap as @Geotrash mentioned. It looks like an 8 lug.

Looks like Texas plates. I'm not sure how one would register something like this? I guess it's based on the cab and not drivetrain/engine? IDK?

A Suburban body with that kind of power would be fantastic.

My first Suburban was a 1984 3/4 ton with the 6.2L diesel. 140 HP! Great truck but always so underpowered although it did get very good MPG.

I didn’t realize the 3/4 ton frame was still available. Pretty cool!!
Yeah, I've thought about that, too. My guess is that since CAFE regs basically made new HD SUVs a losing proposition for the automakers, GM is still finding a lucrative market in the aftermarket through companies like Duramax Specialties and a host of similar diesel conversion shops pumping out examples better than GM could produce, to a happy, waiting market. Of them all, in my opinion Nick Controy over at Duramax Specialties makes the best ones. Full electronics and systems integration, and they powder coat the frame and everything before they drop the body back on.

They're less expensive than a new 1500 Escalade ESV Or Yukon XL Denali, and they'll outlast and outperform them by far. Here's the first K2xx Escalade ESV 2500 diesel in the world:
