Hi,

I'm looking at a low mile '05 Escalade across the country. Any thoughts on this level of rust? I'm fine replacing parts but the left panel engine bay (anyone know this part #) looks relatively rusted for 30k miles. Any guidance would be helpful (ie fine, fine with $$, or run)

Thanks!

X2 on what @ReaperHWK said. You'd be paying a pretty penny for an 05 with that little of rust here in WI, granted if the body wasn't all banged up. A quick hit with a wire wheel and some rust converter and you're basically good as new.

And then follow that program up with a good coating of fluid film or wool wax and you'll buy many years of use. Do all the cavities of the vehicle for best results.

From another WI dude thar fights the rust battle.....

Looks mostly 'surface rust'...... Normal.....
But, if you are fortunate to use a lift ( easier to do more)..... Clean as much as you can, ( mini- powerwash/ turbo tip / Gunk etc.)....
Use this all over your underneath..... It's clear and won't cover ( hide ) rust issues later.....
