2022 7-pin trailer plug

Can someone with a 2022 confirm that the 12v trailer charge circuit wire at the 7-pin plug is still "hot/live" with the ignition off and engine stopped? Previous models had the charge line live and hoping that GM has finally made it so that circuit is dead when the vehicle is turned off. Should be the same for the Tahoes and Yukons as well as the trucks.

After some research it looks like when something is plugged in to the 7 terminal it is always live to some degree. There are features that detect trailers and also monitors possible theft of trailers when the vehicle is turned off.

I'm not sure if that helps. The document from GM is very long and detailed about these features so I'm not sure if there is anything else I can say that would answer your question.

Thanks, that is what I thought as GM has always had the 12v charge line hot. Will have to install my ignition relay again on the new Yukon.

Did you install "ignition relay"?

I am searching for a clean method to have accessory power trigger a relay, switching trailer power feed.

Yes I did, I have had one on my last 3 Yukons. I use a 30 amp relay, and on/off toggle switch and a small LED so I know it is on. The previous Yukons had it on the drivers side and the 22 has it on the passenger side under the hood. I use a piece of aluminum angle to hold it all. Don't remember which fuse I used to activate it with though. They make a double fuse holder with a lead to tap into a fused circuit.
