    I'm no gearhead, so what do I know? That being said, if the increased cylinder pressure was negligible, then so are the resultant horsepower gains. Further, we are talking slightly increased cylinder pressures for 150k+ miles. Even a 1% power increase seems like it could impact long term...

    Tuning for higher octane means higher cylinder pressure which could impact long term reliability. I saw no MPG improvement for any octane rating. Truck behaves much better thought.

    I have towed a 6k trailer extensively. It is fine on flat land and struggles on extended hilly terrain. I think 9k would be a huge reach.

    I've done thousands of miles towing 6000 lbs and never heard a ping with 87 octane. Maybe 1/2 of those miles were before I had a tune, and mostly in the summer.

    I have towed around 6000 lbs over 20,000 miles in the past 3 years. 10 MPG is all I get. I got a tune from Blackbear and saw no appreciable change in gas mileage (it did seem to pull better). I've towed as low as 55 MPH and as fast as 65 MPH and still have not notice much of a difference...

    I was thinking the same thing as I read through this thread and couldn't agree more. Airbags are like a loaded gun w/o a safety. It really could kill you. I'm not a safety freak - life is not risk free, but no need to be stupid.
