My local tire/suspension shop talked me into swapping out the ride-leveling air suspension on my '07 Denali XL. The swap went well and I enjoy the ride just fine. However, their attempts to override the sensors has been ongoing for some time now. Yesterday, they just sort of gave up. Said...
Seems this was a fluke and those engines have a generally good expected lifespan. The mechanic who is doing my work has one in a truck he drives that has 400K+ miles on it.
I went with a low-mileage "recycled" engine as opposed to a remanufactured one. Picked an extended warranty for a few more bucks. It's still being installed. Total estimate is <$4K.
I live in Bradley County (Cleveland) and work in McMinn County (Athens). Private mechanic in McMinn is doing...
Certainly has been a live-and-learn experience... If you guys had been around when the decisions were being made on the fly, maybe stuff would have turned out different. I had no real choice at the time but to go along with the consensus of 4 different mechanics, one of which who had nothing...
I bought the bulbs at AutoZone (Sylvania/Zevo) but I didn't see anything on them regarding Can-Bus, so I imagine they are not. I've asked around and have gotten different solutions. The most common was the need for resistors...but I'm going to try to track down Can-Bus bulbs first before...
***UPDATE
Thanks David.
As an update...as mentioned above, we pulled the vehicle immediately away from the dealership based on their price quote. Seemed suspicious, so took it to the "family mechanic". He spent some time with it, confirmed the blown motor and quoted a much lower price...but...
I'm not certain. It all happened while I was out of town. My wife talked to the mechanics. All three, she said, just sort of shook their heads as if they were giving her news of a family member passing away... The last one (where the car is now) texted me, "the motor is toast...definitely...
Wife was driving home on the interstate, gets an error message regarding Stabili-track. Car isn't running or handling any different but she makes her way over toward the shoulder to stop and take inventory. Before she gets to the roadside, she hears/feels a loud "clunk", and the motor begins...
Resurrecting this old thread, but this is good advice. I do have rear air and the plug access on that side was a bear. Took the 4 remaining plugs and wires to the dealership and had them do it for me, as time was not on my side and I couldn't afford to mess things up as I prepared for an...
I just switched all the tail lights to LED (brake, flasher, reverse)
All is well except the flashers...fast-flashing.
I bought a new LED flasher module, but can't find the original to replace it. Every other GM or Jeep I've had was just under the steering wheel/dash...but I have yet to locate...
