    So, 4 busted exhaust bolts. That'll be the next thing I replace to see if it fixes the issue, and then I'll also check out the flexplate while I'm down there. Really appreciate all the input.

    I haven't check the exhaust studs. Just tearing into valve covers now and checking those out. Little bit of play in the rockers, but nothing crazy

    It was doing it before I dropped the oil pan and had both those plastic pieces off. I would assume the plastic would be torn up if it was slapping against the flexplate, however, I didn't notice anything wrong with it. Wish it was something simple though, that's just not my luck lol.

    Is there an easy way to check the flexplate, like using a borescope or something and looking through those inspection areas? I'd hate to pull the transmission if I don't need to yet. I'll pull the valve covers and check for a bad rocker this evening. Really appreciate all the input.

    Neutral/park/drive. Anytime it gets to around 3k, below that nothing. did some closer listening, it doesn't really sound like a lifter tick. I'm gonna have someone rev while I listen tomorrow, maybe get a closer listen and see where it's coming from.

    It's not constant, only at a higher rpm. Once it shifts it goes away. It doesn't seem to matter hot or cold, it still makes the tick/click/metallic clack (one of those sounds lol).
