    How many miles did you get out of your original Transmission?

    2001 Yukon XL SLE 4x4. It has original engine and transmission. 421,000. I am the original owner. Not sure if this is unusual or the norm.

    How long did your starter last?

    01 Yukon XL with 416,000. I still have the original starter. Other things have failed over time but not that. Come to think about it I have only replaced one starter on any car I have owned my adult life (61). Had to replace the starter on a 96 Grand Cherokee at 250,000.

    I have a 2001 Yukon XL with 414,000 miles. I am the original owner. What engine does it have? If it's the 5.3L you can expect the knock sensors to need replacement soon. I had to pull the intake and replace mine at 220,000 and 400,000. If you have the rear heat/AC system look at the hoses...

    My 01 Yukon has a recall maybe 16 years ago for the fuel pump wire harness over heating. Maybe it wasn't done on this Suburban.

    Put it back together. What I ended up doing was reusing one of the original bolts. I ran a chase through the rusted threads in the floor. The other side got a new bolt.

    Great idea. I had not thought about that. I just checked and our local Autozone has a thread chase set for loan. I will get it tomorrow. I will report back here with pictures good or bad in the next few days with my rebuilt seat installed.

    I was wondering if I could do that. A chase will be hard to find in my area but a tap is easy enough to get. I will get one and gently try it.

    Ouch! Those look worse than mine!!. I called the local GM dealership. The bolts are a discontinued item but they were nice enough to give me the size. M12 1.75x45. It didn't list fine or coarse threads but I am sure I can find something to replace it with. I wonder what bolt strength...
