01 Yukon XL with 416,000. I still have the original starter. Other things have failed over time but not that. Come to think about it I have only replaced one starter on any car I have owned my adult life (61). Had to replace the starter on a 96 Grand Cherokee at 250,000.
I have a 2001 Yukon XL with 414,000 miles. I am the original owner. What engine does it have? If it's the 5.3L you can expect the knock sensors to need replacement soon. I had to pull the intake and replace mine at 220,000 and 400,000. If you have the rear heat/AC system look at the hoses...
Put it back together. What I ended up doing was reusing one of the original bolts. I ran a chase through the rusted threads in the floor. The other side got a new bolt.
Great idea. I had not thought about that. I just checked and our local Autozone has a thread chase set for loan. I will get it tomorrow. I will report back here with pictures good or bad in the next few days with my rebuilt seat installed.
Ouch! Those look worse than mine!!.
I called the local GM dealership. The bolts are a discontinued item but they were nice enough to give me the size. M12 1.75x45. It didn't list fine or coarse threads but I am sure I can find something to replace it with. I wonder what bolt strength...
My 2001 Yukon needed to have the driver seat cushion replaced as you can imagine. With 412,000 miles it was a little flat. I got the seat out but one bolt gave me a hard time. The rear outboard 14 E Torx bolt didn't want to come out. I had to put a breaker bar and plenty of oil to get it out...
Have you looked to see if you have rusted off exhaust manifold bolts. My 5.3 has several and makes that sound when cold but goes away as it warms up. It has 401,000 miles on it.
The 5.3L has a know issue where you can get unexplained coolant loss. Have you tried the coolant tablets that your GM dealer sells. They are a stock GM product that I believe is vegetable based. I had this problem and my neighbor who is a retired GM mechanic told me to try this. It solved my...
I have a 01 Yukon XL SLE 5.3 engine. It has 320,100 miles. Have had to replace the driver side wheel bearing, and ball joints. The alternator and the fuel pump. The engine has burned oil since day one and I was unhappy about that but with the miles on the engine now and it's running ok I...
I have a 2001 Yukon XL with the rear A/C options. I am trying to remove the dome light so I came access the roof. I am installing a vhf ham radio antenna on the car. Any help would be appreciated.
