I'm not convinced either. All the videos i watched on youtube about replacing the injectors said the failures came with missfire codes of which I have none. Also, after sitting for the last week I decided to take the truck to work today and it drove fine, CEL is off, no stumble at idle, weird...
the mechanic got back to me, $820 and he will replace the 2 faulty injectors. Hmm, I want him to go in there and make sure it's right. But I could save $700 doing it myself. Not sure I'd know what the issue was though if its something other than the 2 injectors i was told were faulty.
Option 2...
Thanks, I've watch a few videos, seems pretty straightforward to me. Should I replace the 2 bad injectors, or do all 8? Dealer said to do all and the fuel rails, but that seems absurd to me if only 2 are acting up.
I've decided that I'm going to replace the injectors myself. It doesn't look like that big of a job and I'm not paying anyone else to work on it after all this. I don't trust the dealer or the other guy to do it.
Does anyone have a good source for a set of injectors? I'd rather go oem if they...

The shop that did the initial work said the injectors were not balanced ("way out of spec" were his exact words), the dealer however, said they were leaking down. Sorry if I used the terms interchangeably...
The loud rapping sound from the #7 lifter is what determined it was a lifter problem.
In all seriousness though, the shop that did the lifters is an LS performance specialist, they have only 5 star reviews and seem to know what they are doing. I havent confronted them at this point, I'm asking...
$2412.72 they are now quoting me. 8 new injectors...
Is there any possibility that the place that did the lifters for me damaged the injectors in some way? There were zero issues with idle or injectors prior to having the work done. The second I picked it up I could feel the issue and the CEL...
Dealer said it's only 2016-17 trucks that are covered. Looks like I'm SOL. I might just run a few cans of seafoam and see if that clears it up at all. runs fine other than idle.
Just had my lifters and pushrods swapped out after having the #7 lifter fail on my 2015 Yukon with the 5.3L and 67k miles on it. After getting the truck back the mechanic informed me that the idle was rough and he found 2 injectors that aren't "balanced" and that there is a tsb and I should have...
I think I have an injector stuck open at the moment. It's idling like crap, but fine one you get on the throttle. I also had a bank 2 too rich code pop up. It's going back in thursday for that to be fixed. I kind of wish I did the cam, but the budget did not really allow that at the moment. As...
Running in 4wd is not a fix for having crappy tires. There is ZERO reason to drive in 4wd or auto 4wd on dry pavement. Get new tires or stop flooring it in turns. My truck is only ever in 4wd at the boat ramp or when I am off road and actually need it. You're burning up your driveline for zero...
Well, It's done! It's running great other than a slight rpm fluctuation at idle. he said they'll take a look at it this weekend for me. It feels great though, better than before the lifter failed. Nice smooth power now and it's in V8 all the time. I'll attach pics of the invoice so you can see...
yeah, I'm getting nailed cost wise, but that's what happens when I can't do the work myself. I would do this, but my new garage isn't built yet and my wife and I just welcomed our 3rd child this week so I do not have the time to deal with anything, let alone a project this involved.
I'll just...
^ no, he said with all the labor involved it would be an extra $3k to swap the cam and associated parts and it would only be about a 40hp increase. I guess on 2015+ there's a lot more labor to change the oil pump, motor has to come out since I'm 4wd and the pan can't be dropped without pulling...
Hopefully these guys know what they are doing. They are LS performance specialists. He assured me there will be no DOD components left in the motor. I will of course make sure of that before I pick it up. He confirmed that he engine looks alright internally, they are going to do the new lifters...
