    Massive recall coming soon

Looks like GM has issued a stop sale order on a large number of vehicles with the 6.2L engine. Massive recall will be coming next. Apparently after the cars are repaired their oil recommendation will change to use the Dexos R oil specified for Corvettes...

    Diesel Additive Testing

It has been pretty well accepted that Opti lube xpd is the best diesel additive for a while now. These European diesel engines are not designed to work with low lubricity diesel like we have in the US. https://www.dieselplace.com/threads/lubricity-additive-study-results.177728/

    2025 Diesel orders opened

Im trying to spec out a Yukon Denali and it won't let me add any options to get the air suspension and Reserve Package. Is this a glitch in the configurator, or is it not available?

NHTSA opens preliminary probe into more than 870,000 GM vehicles

Toyota is replacing the engines in 100,000 of the trucks with the V6 engines that were prone to catastrophic failure. Not sure about the details of the Honda recall yet.

NHTSA opens preliminary probe into more than 870,000 GM vehicles

I don't think they will be able to get away with that. Random catastrophic engine failures become a safety issue. Look at the recent large recalls Toyota and Honda have had to do for engine issues.

NHTSA opens preliminary probe into more than 870,000 GM vehicles

This is going to be a big problem for GM. The fact that this problem has been going on for years makes it likely that GM either can not fix this system, or that the fix is too expensive.

Where to sell OEM 2023 Suburban 6.2 Exhaust System ?

You don't have to report sales of used goods on your income taxes, unless it is a business vehicle you have to recapture the sale of that part since you depreciated the vehicle on your business taxes. If you are selling things you made, or buying and reselling goods for profit that is a...

Why the switch to big rims?

Because the vehicle looks better, and it will also corner and turn slightly better with the bigger wheels.

AC evaporator calls it quits at 32K miles?

I would get a second opinion, but dealers almost always use the book hours for a given job. An experienced tech could probably do it in much less time, but you would have to go to an independent mechanic to get a better price. It is probably less than 20 hours, the labor rate for most dealers...

    2.7 Turbomax

Inline 4 cylinder engines usually sound worse than V6 because they are less balanced. I6 engines are inherently balanced so they generally sound very smooth and refined. V8 rumble is great for motor heads (I admit I am one), but most people will prefer the smoothness of an I6.

    2.7 Turbomax

This is what I have heard as well, it was a very odd decision to drop the turbo I6 that was based on this engine, especially considering the unresolved issue they are having with the V8 engines. The 4 cyl may be a bit underpowered for the heavier SUVs...it is probably workable with a hybrid but...

    2.7 Turbomax

GM is in a tough spot with these engines. They hung their hat on keeping V8s around, but the system that allows them to keep the V8 is troublesome. 4 Cyl engines would be a very tough sell in these SUVs especially at 70-80k+ price points because of the lack of refinement. They cancelled the...

    6.2L Engine Wait Times...

You are right, it probably won't happen in 2035, but I find it very interesting that GM has decided to spend what will end up being over $1 billion on a new small block engine family. No other automakers are spending money to design entirely new engine families, instead they are modifying...
