2022 Tahoe with check engine constantly and other problems..

When my 07 has seen its day, Toyota here I come. Just too hard not to buy proven reliability when we are spending that kind of $$$. Plus, they stepped it up in the looks and comfort game.

2022 Tahoe with check engine constantly and other problems..

I'd look into a lemon lawsuit. My girlfriend had constant electrical issues on a Malibu back in 08' when it was brand new. In the shop numerous times as you have mentioned. She won enough to pay off most of the car.

What are your must-do things on new-to-you gmt900?

If it came from the rust belt, make sure you can get the spare down. They can rust and get hung up. Don't want to find that out on the side of the road.

Overlanding - all years. General discussion and pics

To fabricate one, just go to Napa's website and order one. It's a whole unit. Just mount it when it comes. But they can be hard to get now. I just camp in the Shawnee NF in Southern Illinois. Pretty much light gravel roads in that NF. A few natural material trails. I don't consider...

    Stock suspension LS vs Z71 - 2007

Follow up. Fit perfectly. And the little bit of offset difference looks much better.

    Stock suspension LS vs Z71 - 2007

Thanks. That's what I went with. Coming any day, so I'll follow up just in case anyone else is looking for this answer. But it seems everyone wants 20s + now....

    Stock suspension LS vs Z71 - 2007

Correct. Same width but smaller wheel gives me more sidewall.

    Stock suspension LS vs Z71 - 2007

Looking to replace my z71 18" wheels with some 17s. Want a little more tire. Looking at AR Outlaws 17x8 +30. Seems that "fitting" sites only give me the option for 18" when choosing my z71 from the drop downs. But if I put in LS 4wd, it shows 17s will fit. Backspacing will be about .04"...

    Awning Mount

I used Yakima mighty mounts. Works perfectly. Plus I can get it off and on in about 5 minutes. I have since then flipped the L brackets facing down. Wanted it closer to the roofline. I have also added a coated magnet and bracket to give it a bit more stability when traveling.

Overlanding - all years. General discussion and pics

Just started playing with my build. It's also my daily, so being able to quickly and efficiently removed overlanding items is important. I've rented completely built out rigs in Idaho and California, which was awesome! But for mine, I'm going more budget. No RTTs, dual battery system, etc...

What are your must-do things on new-to-you gmt900?

I'd swap out the heater core hoses and T fittings, all fluids front to rear, bleed brakes really well, new plugs/wires, clean the MAF and throttle body. Unfortunately, these items are usually not routinely done and cause issues or inefficiency.

    Side marker light flicker

That simple. And thank god it was the first one I tried on the rear!

    Side marker light flicker

Hi All. I've had LED side marker lights in by 07 for years without issue. I just noticed that the 2 fronts and passenger rear now have random flickering (on and off with no real pattern) when the truck is running. Before I do the tedious task of removing the headlights, can anyone chime in...

Old on New - Roof Rack

The mounting plates do have a different profile and don't sit as nicely on a few areas. But it might be only an 1/8" gap in a few spots. Not a concern. I also added some silicone when mounting. The biggest takeaway from this was that it is actually a usable rack other than the toy they put...

Old on New - Roof Rack

I decided against fabbing up a custom Prinsu rack as I didn't really want to spend the money on materials and tooling. Would have still been north of $600 not including my time. Went another direction. Pulled some 2000-2006 Z71 rack parts from the pick n pull. $51 for the whole thing!!
