Depending on outside temp, anywhere from 800ish up to 1200ish. For example, this afternoon it was around -5F and the initial idle was around 1200-1300.
I haven't yet had a chance to chase down any vacuum leaks but I'll check the one you suggest.
I had an avalanche once that did the opposite- ran like total garbage until it warmed up and the manifold leak closed itself up when things warmed up. That's why this one seems so weird to me. Anyway, I'll try the brake cleaner test and let you guys know what I find.
There are no exhaust leaks. After your response and the others, I will definitely be checking for vacuum leaks and will report back.
My scanner isn't good enough to capture fuel trims. The Tahoe never has an individual cylinder misfire code, only the multiple random code and that only happens...
2001 Tahoe, 5.3L with around 220k miles. I've owned it for a couple years, so no idea on the age of fuel filter, plugs/wires/coils/etc. Tested fuel pressure and had 48 PSI. Codes that have been there forever are P0300 & P0332 (multiple random misfires and bank 2 knock sensor). Codes that started...
The hood latch pass thru worked awesome, many thanks!
I removed the grommet, then I fished a 14ga wire through to the cabin from under the hood, then used that wire to pull back the 8ga wire for the amp power. I then cut a slit in the grommet and ran the amp wire thru, then replaced the...
The 01 also has the orange wire at the amp, though I forget what gauge it is. The powered sub I bought is 200W RMS, 800W peak, not sure if the factory wiring could safely handle that or not.
Thanks for the thought on the hood latch, I'll check that out.
I have a 2001 Tahoe with the factory amp behind the glove box and the ***** factory sub in the back left. I've bypassed the factory stuff, installed a new head unit and front/rear door speakers. I'm now looking to add a powered sub under the rear passenger seat (I'm too old to need the systems I...
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I just replaced the factory stereo and speakers in my 2001 non-Bose with factory amp. Not only is the factory amp a P.O.S., it has a built-in crossover that won't send any of the low end frequencies to the door speakers.
The Metra 70-2021 mentioned a...
I did finally get around to doing this (was busy with work and a couple trips to the south from the frozen ******** of MN) and they didn't find any ABS codes... ugh...
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm going through trying to decide how to upgrade the sub in my 01 Tahoe. Would you happen to have the Kicker model# you used, as well as how you "wired it down" to 2 ohm? I used to be a lot better at car audio and I can't recall what to do to change...
Thanks for the response. I'm gonna look into that Tech 2 scan tool- I had something similar for my Ram and it was worth it's weight in gold- I didn't know Chevy had something like that (full disclosure, I haven't owned a Chevy for 15+ years).
