On the hwy a car isn't auto stopping. Cars literally have tons of little things incorporated to increase efficiency. Every little bit counts. Tires, grill shutters, temp control, goes on and on. The diesel has auto start stop and the engines are just fine. -

Than turn it off? Vehicles burn gas idling. Auto start stop saves fuel. And it's seamless in operation. I dont know of any modern system that uses the accelerator to wake up. It shuts off when brakes are depressed and wakes up as soon as you take your foot off the brake. Again people are... -

It works. It saves gas. Leave it on a switch like it is. Maybe give the option of turning it off permanently instead of pressing button everytime. Vast majority of people benefit from it. -

Gm has had a mdi box for a long time now. The days of the tech 2 have been over. And there are aftermarket solutions to help the DiY person.
