Ethanol has less energy (BTUs) per gallon than gasoline so mileage/range suffers, but it cheaper.
I've run mixtures of as much as 30% ethanol and no issue(s).
If you want to extend your range/mpg? run premium. In our Denali (mostly hwy) premium pays for itself.
GM recommends premium with our 07 6.2L L92.
I experimented w/87 and 89 unleaded and gas mileage suffered and I got an occasional "Knock Detected" on the digital info center, not good.

My 07 Denali has the smallish factory KNP trans cooler and NO oil cooler.
I may add a oil cooler and a larger trans cooler. I'll study your post.

@RET423 was successful with his DOD/AFM delete and NOT changing the cam, exactly what I may do someday. My LY5 doesn't tick, misfire, etc and the cam is like new.
One thing I forgot in my post #6 here was needing to buy 8 pushrods of the proper length (7.385" ?) to set proper preload.

I've been driving my LS powered (2008 gen4 LY5) 51 Chevy pickup for many yrs and 3,000 miles with the its AFM tuned out but all the AFM hardware intact.
Unless someone can convince me otherwise? I'm planning to leave the stock LY5 cam in place. It runs great and gets good mpg.

For preventative mx I just changed the crankshaft position sensor in my 07 6.2 w/213k miles and there was NO need to do a relearn.
Of course I had the battery disconnected when I did this.
Same goes for the camshaft position sensor.
